This song is completely true on so many levels...I used to SI and I did cut to feel, the pain was the one thing to live for. The Johnny Cash song adds another layer to this song...I haven't decided if I think its better or not..I think that the words grip me more on Cash's version while the sound of Reznor's is the best. Just my humble opinion. "full of broken thoughts I cannot repair beneath the stains of time the feelings disappear you are someone else I am still right here " In my world that means he's still the same fu*ked up person with the same mental crap going on...but everyone he sees moves on and gets on with thier lives and you have to watch them..which is a whole new layer of hell. Damn good song. |
