John Lennon – Watching The Wheels Lyrics

I can see it as being more about people who are driven by materialism rather than religion. They see anyone who doesn't feel the need to succeed financially as being misguided. |

John Mayer – My Stupid Mouth Lyrics

"one more thing/why is it my fault" that feeling is so common - I'm used to this but I'm still going to question it
"I'd rather be a mystery" that's my outlook on life - I don't think i really believe in better to have loved and lost ... |

John Mayer – Why Georgia Lyrics

about what damacman said - I thought it was amusing that a fair portion of the audience wasn't even *alive* in 1983 ;-) plus I don't think "your body is a wonderland" is exactly g-rated. about the song itself - "the kind of morning that lasts all afternoon" I have far, far too many of those, and I think everyone can think of a day that just dragged on and on ... |

Saves the Day – Freakish Lyrics

one of my favorite STD songs - everyone knows what it's like not to be able to say what you need to ... it's that much worse when the person you're trying to tell isn't listening |

Rufio – She Cries Lyrics

I agree about carson - TOTAL tool. and I don't care whether wanna-be punks say STD and DC are overrated - their fans think they kick ass, and that's all that matters. I mean, c'mon, these posers think they're hardcore by putting on studded bracelets and wearing plaid. |

Squirrel Nut Zippers – Blue Angel Lyrics

This is a sticky sweet song. By that I mean the sound, not the lyrics. The lyrics make you stop and think about what it's like to be a devil. |

Squirrel Nut Zippers – Bad Businessman Lyrics

I love everything about SNZ - I've got three of their albums, and am still looking. They've got the crazy pre-swing sound that just makes you jump. Bad businessman has you shivering at how slimy the dude is |

Barbra Streisand – I Know Him So Well Lyrics

A wonderful duet for two altos, although the lyrics don't make much sense out of the context of the musical. My friend and I sang this at an assembly, and afterwards had people who don't even like musicals come up and tell us how much they liked it |

I don't think there're any STD songs that people can't relate to on some level. That's why they're so amazing - everyone feels connected |

Saves the Day – Certain Tragedy Lyrics

I always thought it was amazing how it could be such an energetic, almost bouncy song, and yet the lyrics conjure such sad images. "even the most beautiful of all roses must someday crumble to dust and fade away. It's certain tragedy" I think that line is my outlook on life. It's so depressing, and yet when I hear it sung it's turned around. Almost uplifting. |
