Don Henley – For My Wedding Lyrics
|
I'm pretty sure "all my dark angels" is correct. He is saying he must part ways and finally forget about his past "loves" and bury them in the past. The rest of the song I'm pretty sure is self explanatory. Beautiful song |

Brand New – Millstone Lyrics

I'm pretty sure this song is about the loss of innocence....A loss so extreme that it drives someone to suicide...this is apparent in the last verse about the accident, where the "narrator" jumps in front of a car. |

Old Canes – Early Morning Hymns Lyrics
|
The first line is, "wakin' up worryin'"
Also its not "sorry about that mean old fight", it's really, "sorry about that little fight"
However you did an excellent job on this song considering many of their songs are hard to decipher. |

Ben Harper – Younger Than Today Lyrics
|
This song is pretty self-explanatory I think. Just about the passage of time and how you wish it didn't have to happen. Time passes and there's nothing you can do about it, so just make sure you take hold of every fleeting moment. You'll never be younger than today... |

Blink-182 – Give Me One Good Reason Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I think it funny how a lot of you guys say, "Oh i hate those preppy jock kids", because you say they are "conforming" and what not. But cant you see that everybody does it? Even if you claim to not be a part of any particular group, you are. Don't fight it and try to act all rebellious, cause you basically still suck. You really aren't as cool as you think you are. Grow up emo kids. |

The Killers – Smile Like You Mean It Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I agree with many of you that this song is very nostalgic. I think the whole message to it is to enjoy your youth while you still can. I think "smile like you mean it" basically means to live like you mean it and make the best of the present times. What a great message, it gives me goosebumps. |

Nazareth – Hair of the Dog Lyrics
|
Here's a little interesting tidbit. The term "Hair Of The Dog", is widely used in reference to being hungover and drinking more in order to stop the hangover. It is short for the phrase, "The hair of the dog that bit you". The dog=alcohol. |

The Doors – Soul Kitchen Lyrics
|
The "Soul Kitchen" is actually referring to a restaraunt where the band used to go when they were still in their early stages... It was Jim's favorite place to eat. You can read it in John Densmore's book called "Riders On The Storm". A must read for any true Doors fan! |

Eagles – Desperado Lyrics

I can relate to this song A LOT... It's never been hard for me to attract women for the whole one night stand thing, yet once I start getting close to a girl, I feel like I need to find something new. So for me, this song is talking about settling down and actually letting yourself be in a relationship with a girl instead of just loving her and leavin her. |

Tom Petty – Learning to Fly Lyrics

haha that was funny robbay. You are correct about the pilot thing also. I have read that too. And WhiteHorse---i have done my fair share of drugs, however i am not a complete moron to associate everything with them. Grow up, and then maybe you'll understand this song and how it is NOT about drugs. Sure there might be certain references, but the overall meaning has nothing to do with drugs. |

Alkaline Trio – Another Innocent Girl Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
I can definitely relate to this tune... In my mind this song is about drinking/using drugs a lot and not really caring about anybody except for the occasional hookup. Anybody who is in college right now can understand that. And whenever you meet a girl at some party or something, she thinks its gonna turn out to be more, but you know in your mind that its just another innocent girl who had made your list, and you just wanna get with her. |

Alkaline Trio – Trucks And Trains Lyrics

I think this song is about dying (like most people on here)...in my mind the part talking about "something (different colors in different parts) leaving town and where it goes hell knows maybe somewhere better than here" refers to a soul after death |

I cant believe I am the first one to comment on this song. I think its such a great song. Basically just telling his significant other that she means EVERYTHING to him, and that without her he wouldnt have anything and nowhere to go. She holds up his entire world. Such a great lovesong |

Led Zeppelin – Going to California Lyrics

Here's what it means to me. He has gotten hurt, or his dreams have been crushed, and he's just moving to california to start over. He is looking for a girl to love, but unfortunately the type of girl he is wanting had doesnt exist (trying to find a women who's never been born).I think its about heartbreak and that feeling that you'll never find somebody. God have i felt that all too many times... |

Boston – Amanda Lyrics
|
This song is simply about the 3 biggest words someone can say to somebody else..."I LOVE YOU"... there is always a point in every relationship where you are borderline telling the girl you love her, and vice versa...you dont wanna say it too early because the other person might get scared and back out, so i think this song is when he is feeling like that... |

The Smashing Pumpkins – Tonight, Tonight Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
This song is about how everything you do in your life will make you a different person (you can never ever leave, wthout leaving a piece of youth) meaning that you grow up through your experiences in life and you gradually start losing your youth in the past. I also believe that the line "the more you change the less you feel" is referring to how things you go through in life kind of numb you. If you get hurt a lot or go through a lot of bad things, you arent going to feel so bad eventually because you will understand that change happens, therefore you are changing and learning how to deal with change and accept it as a natural and inevitable part of each one of our lives |

this fucking song just rocks. I dont know about you all but i really appreciate songs that rock and dont have to have words such as "bling-bling" or "nigger" or "im gonna fucking kill you" like all the fucking rap shit we have to put up with nowadays. This song is a prime example of ACTUAL music |
