I heard somewhere it was about, Don and the Eagles. ie Waiting in the Weeds before releasing another album. "I've been biding time with the crows and sparrows, While peacocks prance and strut up on the stage. If finding love is just a dance, proximity and chance, You will excuse me if I skip the masquerade." I think above, he is talking about all these so called artists who are purely manufactured record company puppets with no talent,and that they were/are purely waiting for the public to get sick of these talentless has beens, before the real Bands/ Artists are/ were back in flavour again. Good use of pun,how he says he was "waiting with the crows and sparrows" when he is an Eagle! |

Great Song. You gotta love the synical, childish line of: "And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself" Its as if its a teasing throwaway line. |

This is a great song. It reminds me of an ex, that I couldn't commit to for that little bit extra in our relationship. ie Marriage/Engagement,. But after we had broken up, in reflection I realised how much I missed her and would give anything to get her back. I think some of you are missing the point of this song though. It is not a love song to be shared between two people. It is a song of pain for losing someone you wish you still had, in a reflective perspective and how you would do anything to get them back ! |
