| Oh yeah, it's definitely "The past is through; it never happened." I need to revise these as I went off the really awful quality myspace demo the band put up about 6 months before the album came out. | |

i've seen summer turn cold and winter bring on the sailboats i've seen fall turn to cold and plans unfold grey hair sprouting i've waited i've seen ten years fly by and i have seen and heard what makes your heart sing i've waited i've waited for so long |

I think you're VERY right on that! I don't know how I missed that, haha. And originally I had the end a bit different, but I must've changed it somewhere down the line. Thank you very much for your input; you've helped make the lyrics more concise and gave it your own personal feel. |

| The Appleseed Cast – The Summer Before Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| we may never know the correct lyrics, but i swear this song is written about the film la jetee. they've explicitly stated that 12 monkeys inspired the concept behind sagarmatha, so it's only fitting that la jetee should also be an influence. | |

| The Velvet Teen – Poor Celine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It says so in the lyric booklet too. I just assumed it was kind of a malapropistic joke regarding the first lines of the song. Or maybe it really is that and it was just mistyped, haha. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – As the Little Things Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The lyrics to the studio version are absolutely impossible to decipher accurately, so I added the lyrics of a version of this song they used to play. It was previously titled "Song 1" and the vocals had a completely different melody and impression. It's so damn hard to tell what Chris' singing in the Sagarmatha version that he could actually be saying these lyrics and I wouldn't even be able to tell. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Silas' Knife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
In the conceptual story of Peregrine, I believe this song is a narrative from the daughter, Peregrine, to her brother fighting his enmity and reclusion (whose name seems to be Silas.) This all seems to be a result of the miscreant in this story: the formerly loving and affectionate, now turned conniving and diabolical, "Father." As far as I can guess, judging by the knife and nature motifs, Silas' (more bitter than sweet) nostalgic memories are most likely traumatized by the realization of horrors he experienced while hunting. This is most likely introduced, but not touched upon, in "Woodland Hunter (Part I)" and continue on throughout this song and a few other times on the album. Peregrine realizes and understands her brothers pain, and wants him to face reality and face himself, the world and his father. She begs him to persevere; to abstain himself from the family horror and trauma caused by her father's actions. She wants him to stand up for himself, for he cannot be defeated. Whether or not the 'cave' is real or metaphorical I cannot decipher, but if it is real it would imply that he's quite literally living in the wilderness and hunting for survival; something I think would be quite interesting and depictive of primal instinct and maybe even heavy psychosis. If it isn't an actual cave, I think it might refer to either the mental 'cave,' or rut, so to speak, or perhaps even a really nasty, maybe even dilapidated apartment-- think Taxi Driver here, folks. |

| The Appleseed Cast – Peregrine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is the part of the story where Peregrine, the daughter, continues to haunt her father as a ghost to the point of retribution for murdering her; and it ultimately ends with his demise. Not necessarily in this song, but in "A Fate Delivered." "When you come back to me, you will be on your knees with wounded hands." Justice much? |

| By the way, while I have this song, the quality is fucking ABYSMAL, and it sounds like its playing with pillows on my speakrs. Fuck 96kbs MP3s, they should not exist. So if anyone has a better quality of this jam, please send it to me? | |

| As much as I love this song, this could've definitely been a radio single for them, aha. | |
| Mineral – The Last Word Is Rejoice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I was never one for interpreting songs such as this as anything to do with relationships, but VolatileWorld's comment was incredible. Some people might find that sappy, but I honestly am astounded that someone would be that honest and passionate about something of that nature on this website. Not just that, it sounded completely genuine and sincere; thank you for posting that. You're the reason that music like this is so beautiful. I hope this song helps you find your way to those words; I hope you rejoice. I've never felt what I feel about this song until just now.. Even after having this album since it came out. Wow. |
|
| Mineral – Gjs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That's a very interesting though, thejones52. I've gotten that connotation as well, but I've always heard him say, "turn around and.." It's incredibly Mineral to leave something open and ambiguous like that, though. Yes, I did just use "Mineral" as an adjective. | |
| Mineral – Palisade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
For what it's worth, these aren't the entire lyircs to this song. "Unfinished", if you will. On the Crank! website there is a whole other few sentences.. I'm really upset that these never made it to the final version of the song, as they are absolutely beautiful and add so much more to the whole "golden age" theme that seems so ever-present in Mineral's lyrics. Anyway, here it is, make what you want of it: and there I was at fourteen - spinning with my arms out like a scarecrow; walking down monroe to the park, and dancing up madison. With my eyes closed, your feet sounded like a symphony of strings (you picked me up, and whispered: "forever", like a secret in my ear). to smile (like it caused the grass to bend). the warm wind and these memories are gifts that I could never comprehend. i died that day. but something was born inside of me that I cannot explain away. |

| Radiohead – Kid A Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Pretty sure I'm the only person to have this connotation, but this song totally brings up images from the "future" world in the really old Squaresoft action-rpg "Secret of Evermore". I'm not even sure why; just the creepy, yet mellow and futuristic atmosphere of it. On a way less nerdy note, I really don't think this song should ever be played live by them. It almost destroys what the song is about. Sure, songs played live should have their own feel and design when compared to their studio versions, but I really don't think this song does. One of the only Radiohead songs that ISN'T twenty times better live. |

| Moving Mountains – Ode We Will Bury Ourselves Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is life and mood changing. I could have the worst day in the world and feel rejuvenated after hearing it. One of the best endings to a song and album I've ever heard in my life. This is epic and this moves mountains. |

| Hey Mercedes – What You're Up Against Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I've always found this song to be about just being ridiculously tired and worn out from working, drinking and just everyday life. Not getting the time you so crave and deserve for yourself. It's quite mundane as well, and I think the line "human, we've got a little problem here" perfectly summarizes the song. I don't see this song being about a 'ruined relationship' or whatever the hell you kids think every song Bob Nanna writes is about. |

| i apologize for that comment, there are a lot of opinions i forgot to include while writing it.. i was also very, very drunk. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Peregrine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
if you can't comprehend my comment, I would advise against criticizing my comprehension. I didn't even share what I thought this song was about, I merely stated that it was one of my favorite tracks off the album and that is ironic because it is my favorite album of theirs. I, however, feel that this song IS a tad ironic because it is talking about returning to someone (who the victim of this song had possibly mistreated) for either solace or retribution. the allusion to silas' knife is also evident in this song with the line 'with a knife in your side'. knives are one of the many motifs of peregrine, as well as being a big part of the artwork. and what's saying that the emphasis itself isn't repetitive? that is a subjective matter. i hope you know that the cast's songs aren't centered around crisci's vocal placement, so the structure and repetition of the lyrics could very well have NOTHING with the meaning/power of the lyrics because it might've been repeated based on structural purposes of the song. How you interpret that however, is up to you. i do not feel this song is anywhere close to bad, it appears as if you were extremely annoyed at my opinion of the song and made an obvious attack on me; interpreting my comment in the process. I’m sorry if it appeared that way, but it isn’t.. but who cares man, just enjoy the cast! |

| The Appleseed Cast – Reaction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| sigh... not everything is about relationships, or lack there of; especially this song. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Peregrine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| despite the fact that this song is slightly repetitive, structure wise, it is one of the best tracks off Peregrine, ironically sharing the same name. this song is very imposing. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Song 3 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This has hastily become a classic appleseed cast track. The morose guitar and echo-y, mourning vocals seem to paint the picture that this song is about remorse, we are destroying what we find beautiful. anyway, this song is one of the best they play live. especially sans vocal effects. |

| The Appleseed Cast – February Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| it seems like a letter , or maybe just personal thoughts from somebody in prison. from what I gather from it, it appears he meant to shoot someone else, but shot his sister. or maybe instead of prison, he's hiding out. again, very reclusive, mysterious writing on peregrine. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Sunlit and Ascending Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| reclusive and nostalgic. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Mountain Halo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
for some reason this reminds me of Death Mountain in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.. Mainly 'cause it has a halo, heh. On a slightly less nerdy note, I think getfasterer hit it on the head. A lot of Peregrine seems to be dealing with stories about a recluse/addict. |

| The Appleseed Cast – Rooms And Gardens Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| live he sings "you ratted me out" or something like that. | |
| The Appleseed Cast – Steps And Numbers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
in the final chorus of this song, he sings something else.. its REALLY indistinct on the recording, but live it's what he sings instead of the 'stand there..' part again. thats what i love about appleseed cast, they have a constant change about their music, and its different every time you listen to a song of theirs. what he sings is something like : "stand there, running around. and when it comes down and hits the ground, we'll find we're just a shell. stand there, theres no one in town. and when it comes here we'll find that we are out of our homes." i've got mp3s if you want to take your shot at it. |

| The Appleseed Cast – Fight Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
sorry for the third comment, we needz an edit/delete feature.. but when they first wrote this song , the lyrics fitted the song title much better. they were a lot worse though, kind of cliche, but still kinda cool anyway. I have a really old live version of it when they first wrote it that i can send anyone who wnats it. AIM sn is in my info. lyrics: give us your word. (dont let us down) dont turn around theres no one else to snuff you out all alone no one else no one else you crossed the streed it's a hit and you are in heres some advice come out and fight yeah, come out and fight yeah come out and fight. those two wrongs wont make a right give us your word that no one else yeah, just yourself. that you would, you dont listen just listen to me cause its too much on your head, on your shoulders. on your own. yeah, on your own. come out and fight you commit two wrongs, that will make a right x2 close your ears im by myself with no one else come out and fight. take your solo troubles solo. you cant, you must, you cant you're nothing. |

| The Appleseed Cast – Forever Longing The Golden Sunsets Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| The Appleseed Cast – Blind Man's Arrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"a curtain falls, the lights go out. the backdrop falls, the lights go out" is what he sings in a live version. I believe this song relates pagnetry to suicide. or specific plays/stories told on screen stage about suicide. when I say pagnetry, i dont mean it in generality, I think he's relating it specifically. |
