I love Ozzy's background singing on this song. To me it seems like Ringo was saying to not get down & out about about things happening around you. Don't just lie down & take it, but rather stay upright (vertical) and make things better for yourself. Everybody has bad days/times but you need to not lay down & take it and just fold into yourself (depression) and pull yourself together and make your life better. |
