after the part where he says "suicidal, off the cliff ready to dive", i think he says:
I'm suicidal off the cliff ready to dive into the depths of a pyramid where my juice stay crisp in the tomb with the gods in the form of a monsoon, mummified under sand dunes |

If it sounds good, listen to it. I think the German language (no offense) is rough and cruel sounding, and fits the rough and cruel sound of rock perfectly. My thoughts exactly, bobo. And fuck spirit for being ignorant. |

This is a song about siamese twins being separated at birth. Unfortunately, usually when siamese twins are separated, one has to die. Or, it could be about one siamese twin murdering the other with scissors. |

This song could be talking about how we do so much for the government (eyeballs, microwaves, etc.) and get absolutely shit back. But one day, we'll find out how we screwed ourselves so bad and get our credit where our credit is due. |

I think this song is about how futile life can be sometimes. It's saying that he'll always be there for you, even when the power struggle is ultimately lost. We in America live in our own little bubble, oblivious to the outside world. Inside this bubble is a jungle of people, all of whom are trying to get to the top of the figurative food chain. That's what I think this song is about.
(May I ask why we're talking about Census on a Power Struggle board?) |

This song's subject matter is in many ways identical to Shimmy's. Instead, on Shimmy, Serj sings about school indoctrinating people into the system. In this one, he talks about how television does the same thing. |

I like that thought, ultraviolet. Very interesting. Pretty in Pink...why get pissed at someone for their opinion? SOAD says that we should each have our own interpretations of their songs...I personally don't agree with freethinker's opinion, but I don't bag on him for it. |

The line "arise as did the gods, Ninti" is a call for women to rise up, as Ninti was esentially the first woman, Eve. |

I like the war theme. But I believe it's about a guy who goes crazy, due to the fact that the gun he gets from Sako is "small, cute". He got his small gun, stuck it right in his pocket, then killed everyone later (his girl, etc.) |

I'm trying very hard to figure out what this song means. It's obviously feminist. I'm just trying to piece together all the different parts. |

The gods Ninti and Ishkur are as follows:
Ninti
There is a region called Dilmun in the land of Sumer. This is a pure, clean, shining land where gods live. Sickness and death is unknown there. But they had no water so Enki called upon the Sun God to bring water to the surface and fill the region with it. Son God did as requested. The whole region became a garden of gods with gardens and fields everywhere. Here the Earth Goddess Ninhursag planted eight trees. They grew and Enki tasted the fruits of each of them. Eath Goddess was furious, she cursed Enki and disappeared. Enki became very ill. Other gods found Ninhursag and pleaded with her to treat Enki. Enki's eight organs needed treatment one for each of the trees. So Ninhursag created eight entities one for each organ. Five of these entities were female and the rest males. One of the eight organs were the rib and the goddess created to treat this rib was named Nin-ti ( Nin: lady, ti: rib) "the lady of the rib". Another meaning of "ti" was "life", mmaking Nin-ti "the lady of life". This story appears in the Old Testament and in Qoran. And in its passage from Sumerian myths to the Old Testament, treating the rib has become creation from the rib. "The Lady of life" became the Old Testament's Havva (Eve).
Adad
( Sumerian Ishkur, West Semitic Hadad or Addu )
Weather god of the Babylonian and Assyrian pantheons. As god of storms he was both giver and destroyer of life. Son of Anu (An),the god of heaven. His consort was Shalash. Also a god of oracles and divination. The bull and the lion were sacred to him, as was the number six. The cypress was his symbol.

| System of a Down – Jet Pilot Lyrics

p.s. My personal belief...this song is about not letting life pass you by.
"My horse is a shackled old man", I believe refers to the pilot and how transportation has changed so much (people used to get around by horse, now by plane), which is just an example of how time flies, and you'll be sad if you let it all just pass you by. So, that's kind of the moral, i guess. |

Okay, it does make references to the changes in transportation over time, but it's really about astral projection.
This horse is in it's stall near the bay. The horse has always wanted to soar over the bay, but obviously never could. A jet flies over. The pilot's eyes lock with the horse's (i know, the jet's high up, just suspend your disbelief), and the horse astrally projects itself up into the pilot's body, and gets to fly over the bay.
I didn't make that up off the top of my head; I'm not that clever. Serj said it in an interview. So, straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. |

| System of a Down – War? Lyrics

Nice work im iranian.
I believe, however, that in the second part of the song, where he starts talking about "we must call upon our bright darkness", he's now talking about wars today.
"Beliefs, they're the bullets of the wicked",
"One was written on the sword";
He's saying beliefs are our excuse to use bullets, but back during the crusades, the same belief was their excuse to use a sword (that belief being christianity, or some other religion).
"For you must enter a room to destroy it."
This refers to the fact that you need a "legitimate" reason to enter a room (country) to destroy it.
"International Security
The Call of the Righteous Man"
These are the "legitimate" reasons i spoke of above. It's also drawing a comparison between international security excuse we use today and the "call of the righteous man" excuse used during the crusade.
Then the rest talks about the excuse of religion. Why would a god who created everything want you to kill another of his creations? |
