This song does fuckin rock. I think it is about a guy and a girl who are in love, but the guy puts the chic through hell, sometimes without even realizing what he does (funny how he couldn't see it all till she grabbed up her coat). I think that both people know they need to either change or get out of the relationship but instead they just "hang" and wait for the problems to be forgotten until it all just builds up and it is clear that one must leave. I had a relationship like this and this song still makes me cry, it was like I was never appreciated until I had one foot out the door. The entire relationship we both threatened constantlly to leave, but he never thought I actually would...and I still miss him.

This is the best song ever. My dad died of cancer recentlly, and I can understand why he wrote it (however it must have been really hard to deal with at 14). When someone that close to you gets sick, no matter how good or bad of a person they are they begin to become scared of death and hate the idea of dying, especially if they are too young to die. Watching a parent go through that is extremely hard, because they are usually the ones telling you it's okay and protecting you.It's a really hard life lesson to live through, but when it is a persons' time, they have to go, and it will always get better. I love the last line about the rain washing it all away...sorry to be depressing, I just kind of understand the song and really love it.

I know this is probablly not what the song is about, but it makes me think of growing up. I'm 20 and sometimes after staying up all night with my friends (getting high) I think of how much things have changed just in the last year and it scares me to think about what it will be like 5 years from now, beings that right now everyone is going off to college or whatever else...it's almost like watching your dreams fade in front of your eyes when you watch people you have grown up with leave for good, because you never thought it will actually happed. This song also makes me think of sex, just because of the dress part! (sorry...couldn;t leave my message all sad) Plus IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO GET HIGH (unless you are being drug tested)

I think that this song is about knowing that you need to be with someone, yet also knowing that it is going to take alot for you to be together and sometimes it may be easier just to get away from the whole ordeal, but the love is still holding you there. Anyways, thats what I get from it,

I love and relate to this song so much. I think its about a young girl who completley falls in love with a guy that's way over her head and not good enough for her. He sees her as this butterfly that needs to fly from him. This song is like a warning to the girl to let him go and move on to bigger and better things. because he will always ruin her if she stays. Any girl thats dated a musician knows how true this song can ring!

This is my favorite Train song by far. I think it is about a relationship that just won't end for good. The couple knows that they aren't good for each other, yet they still hold on and realize there is more there than what they allow themselves to believe. They both pretend they don't need each other, but they really do.
