this song never made sense to me till i broke up with my girlfriend 2 days ago and it helps me get over her. with all his music i seem to be able to relate to everysong he writes, but with the last girl she was the best thing that has ever happened to me and i will always love her forever, but the i know in the end it will turn out wrong cuz sometimes love just isn't enough. the priorities in both our lives were 2 totally different things i want more than what she offered and it wasn't enough. but it has shown me what i want in a relationship from anyone i meet |

this song is the song of my life right now, every line he sings i can relate to the situation i am in, i just broke up with a girl and we had a kid and she left the kid with me so i'm weighed down with something and i feel deserted. i know i have to get over her, this song is reassuring in a way. with her gone, i do realize how much i do miss wakin up alone. and all i can do is Say goodbye to love and hold my head up high. lotsa babbling there, but this song is what i need to hear right now |

My general interpretation of this song, is a guy and a girl who are friends who have feelings and toy with eachother(not sexually) but they both have a bf/gf, but it's only the guy that can see that this can go nowhere.
