i think its about god being lonely after he creates the world and everyone leaves him (modern day mentality) after he tried to teach them how to live right. maybe i'm wrong, but shiloa sounds like inshallah, which is arabic for god wills it, i think theres something there. and yeah, it sounds like johnny cash, who i am proud to say i liked because my dad made me listen to it as a kid well before everyone jumped on the bandwagon. end. |

this song is not nearly as good as it could have been. although the quality of sound is better (owing partly to releasing it on warner bros and theyre money and recording studio, a poor decision in my opinion), the drive is not there. they sound sort of like a metallica/maiden rip off in this song. it starts off strong with a powerful drum beat, and decent guitar lines, but when they moved into the refrain, the guitar kind of started sucking. then it got better again with a pretty good rip. they sort of lack the energy of sounding the seventh trumpet though. the reverend is one of the best drummers i have ever heard, and he definitely just keeps getting better. I think the key change near the end is a mistake, because it takes away from the drive of the song and turns it into a pop song, something they are not quite suited well to play. the other song they have released from the album to date, trashed and scattered, is a lot better, more like sounding the seventh trumpet, one of the best albums i have heard in a long long time, more energy, and it has they're stylistic mark on it as well, whereas this song is sort of just stereotypical metal. as long as they can avoid the poppy-ness they seemed to move to in waking the fallen, (a few good songs, but a crappy follow up to sounding the seventh trumpet) it will probably be a fairly decent production. it will be interesting to see what the rest of the record sounds like. |

spirirt is an old old band, i dont know much about them. i do know that they wrote the song for led zepplin. led zepplin did not rip them off, that was a mistake on my part, but spirit did write the song for led zepplin, dont make the mistake of thinking they didnt. i spirit might have been a side project of pages but i am not too sure |
