It's a bit confusing because its one side running away from someone the other trying to catch them. This song had resonance with me when I heard it yesterday... I think possibly they are talking about a person they have feelings or are falling in love with but that person is broken, they may be a good person but their actions or inactions or lack of openness is causing problems with their ability to connect. This is creating misery and the writer understands although they feel they should run, they want to help 'catch' this person if they can because they love them. Or that their running may cause them to fall but it's what they have to do for themselves and they will try to catch them if they can. It has resonance with me bc I feel I am that person creating misery with someone. I am the broken empath unsure how to express my emotions anymore. The question for me is WHO is going to catch me when I fall? |
