Stereolab – Galaxidion Lyrics 1 year ago
I think this song means the opposite of what it says since I can't imagine Stereolab actually believing "how sweet it is to obey."
I think it's saying that religions/ideologies and their "wise and worthy guides" (preachers/teachers/philosophers) relieve adherents from the "heavy burden responsibility" for finding what life means for themselves or what is true on an individual level. This relief seems like wisdom, and it feels easy to follow their teaching instead of finding our own individual truth or way-of-being which is so much more difficult to find.

Stereolab – Space Moth Lyrics 1 year ago
"This song is about the classic 1961 cinéma vérité film “Chronique d'un été” – in which the filmmakers, Morin and Rouch, film discussions with regular people, with further conversation about that project itself and the level of reality obtained. At least some of the lyrics are taken directly from statements in the film." (genius.com)

The first section sounds a lot like Philip Glass to me, and the ending section is really fun and jazzy.

Cobra and Phases was the first Stereolab album I heard, and I've been hooked ever since

Stereolab – Puncture in the Radax Permutation Lyrics 1 year ago
An underrated Stereolab sci-fi masterpiece with a rare showcase of Mary Hansen on lead vocals.
It sounds like a cyborg rediscovering nature in a post-apocalyptic earth. It explores some of Stereolab's daoist philosophical roots.
