@[LexieDi:53691] I believe he wrote it just because no one else did it, if you know what I mean. Just because that big girls (or boys!) is not "in line" with the general look in media. Big is frowned upon. So of course Morrissey will do the opposite, and yearn for a big girl. One could argue that the title is unnecessarily frank, but as a pop song—it's the only logical one |

I second Tony Wilson. Look for the strained Meat Is Murder interview Wilson made with The Smiths (search for »Tony Wilson Interviews The Smiths« on youtube). Wilson interviews Andy and Mike, then Johnny, and finally, he scrutinizes – not Morrissey – but »Steven«. But, only Morrissey knows. |

Why is the central, first person figure a »twenty-digit combination to unlock«?
Perhaps because being gay, in a not too distant past, was considered a mental disease.
Yes, I'm figuring that the »to be ›touched‹« part is a one digit combination code for engaging in amorous activities with a same-sex partner. And the combination of being considered »mental« and also a criminal, since homosexuality was also illegal—now, THAT'S insane—is why it's kept hidden. |
