This feels like he's constantly stuck thinking about and longing for someone who isn't necessarily good for him or might've even done something bad to him but he doesn't care. He finds excuses for the person and only sees the good in them no matter what. Like a bad unconditional kind of love that he's gonna hold onto forever. |

I like to thing of two different meaning for this song. The real meaning is that it's about marijuana and how it gives you that feel good moment that eventually fades away. Personally I like to think it's about an obsession with a girl named Mary and Alex is listing of all of the reasons why he solely likes her rather than anyone else. |
