Thousand Foot Krutch – Already Home Lyrics 1 year ago
@[justinszg:44373] I think that may be the song Polly by Nirvana you're talking about.

One thing I think is interesting about this song, is it's similar content to the song "Nutshell" by Alice in Chains, from the very beginning "we chase misprinted lies..."(nutshell) and "the trouble with truth is it never lies..." also the line "I won't run away, cause I'm already home" vs. "no one to cry to and no place to call home". Given all that, I tend to think it's about struggling to overcome addictions, but that Christ is always with us to help us. He is always with us and never forsakes us, He is our home.

Mad Season – X-ray Mind Lyrics 1 year ago
Just a thought, but at first glance I think he might be singing about his feelings toward some of his old band mates. Some have said that Jerry wrote some of the songs talking about Staley's addiction. Maybe he sees Jerry as taking advantage of his plight for bucks

The song is about addiction and how it slowly kills you. There are many addictions outside heroine, but in all of them you lose a part of yourself. "Innocence is over" you can never go back to the point "before" the addiction. Addiction always begins with, "I will quit tomorrow", hence the lyrics "arrogance is potent" and "ignorance has spoken" "I'll repent tomorrow"

Alice in Chains – Bleed The Freak Lyrics 1 year ago
Interesting thing I note, the biblical and religious language along with "Satan's hand on thigh" reference. In biblical times, the hand on thigh was a reference to a covenant. Maybe they're talking about the "deal" one makes to become famous often. Many are said to "sell" their souls to become rich and famous. It's also crazy to think that this is the only CD that Layne isn't on brown.
