taken from the Album "We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes", this is the Title Track...i.e. same title as the album. to me this is about a boy who is self-aware and perhaps a little cynical about boy-meets-girl stuff.. "talking how the group had begun to splinter", but that he decides to go ahead with it anyway. not necessarily the most romantic of songs, but certainly the most true-to-life. superb.

mechassassin1... i don't think it can be about 1984- although i can see the overall theme could be likened to it, the lyrics themselves make no reference nor allusion to anything. personally i think it's about people's lives being empty and them not being able to better themselves. the lines
"in their milk flats with five kids too many" and
"I am dreaming of a life / and it's not the life that's mine"
make my point i think.. they make me sad too, lol. overall a fantastic song- one i don't think i'll ever tire of- and as proven, one that has a lot of meaning that everyone interprets differently. great tune, riffs too. what else do u want from a song? :P |

lol happylittledemigod i agree..... anyway, i think this song is about how many teens nowadays are just carbon copies of every other one, and how they're all identical so they are disposable in that there is nothing that makes them special, you may as well dispose of one and it wouldn't matter because there would be so many to take their place. i'm not a huge Manson fan but i do respect him because he doesn't take himself seriously, and everything he does is tongue-in-cheek. My favourite line..... hmm- the first one! "i'm a black rainbow" because i think it's about how loads of goths dress all in black (a black rainbow/ different shades of black), thinking they're individual, but they're just conforming to another group. Excellent song. I recommend Cake and Sodomy!! lol well the title's good anyway (ps i'm not a goth lol) |

To be perfectly honest, I can't even start to come up with the words of how amazing this song is and what it means to me. It has always reminded me of Bohemian Rhapsody, because of the numerous parts of the song telling a story and each putting across a different opinion, maybe not quite as good but to be honest it's very close. My favourite line is "God loves his children", simply because of, I think, the irony. I very much agree with everything in this song and think Radiohead are undescribably amazing. Every one of their songs seems to be a soundtrack to my life. |

i agree with everything that's been said about this truly amazing song- i adore the piano solo and the imagery created in the lyrics. i love SoCo so much, but unfortunately i can't get a cd where i live so i'll just have to make do with minidisc for now. in a way i think this beats konstantine, because although that's cool, it goes on for a little too long so that in my opinion it's too much of a good thing- but as i said, as far as i can tell, SoCo can do no wrong. i also love Punk Rock Princess, as its the kinda song i'd love someone to sing to me! it also introduced me to SoCo when i stumbled on it by mistake.
