"When we were traveling in Europe a few years ago, I was looking out the window and I was thinking what if all the stuff I'm feeling right now was just something I'm looking back at years from now, like a snapshot taken out of this window... what if it was just a picture? like the picture in Hard Candy that I kept in a draw, a post-card of this moment, and what if things hadn't had turned out as well as I hoped? So this is a photograph, of a moment in my life a long time ago - it's basically the same song as Accidentally In Love, just looked at from a distance" |

"This is about the point in the album where I start to see with a little more clarity.... and then I can't stop laughing. It's about looking at your life and thinking that if you could just have seen it a little more clearly... and just done things just a little differently... then everything might have been different. But it's too late for that, so you gotta deal with today and tomorrow." - Adam (2008 Soundstage) |

Turns out this was recorded by "Dave Gibbs", who was the lead signer of the "Gigolo Aunts". They toured with CC, and apparently he credited both Duritz and Courteney Cox as the writers of the song. |

Mirrors Einstein on the beach for the ending. "No, he\'ll never be together again" becomes "We\'ll never be the same again". This shows a shift in Adam\'s understanding of success; how it changes people. |

"I don’t know if you know, but apparently his “friend” was Courteney Cox! And they wound up not putting it on an album because they broke up." - guybrush7\n<br> https://www.reddit.com/r/countingcrows/comments/tje564/comment/i1l2aob/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 |

In the 3 different versions I\'ve heard:\n- The studio version (from the flying demos) --> u can barley tell he says "Anna"\n- A live version (with length 4:33) (Rare tracks/covers) --> he says "Anna" really loud with a high inflection\n- The one on the deluxe version of AAEA (1994 Elysée...)--> less of an inflection and feels slower. \n\nNot sure if that means anything... |
