@[a101278040:55246] The lyrics could be sung by a man or a woman. Woman find thighs and men's bodies sexy. Kim Gordon sang Thurston Moore's lyrics to Starpower. Regardless, the lyrics are credited to one person on every iteration of the album, cd, etc., Bilinda Butcher. Music by Kevin Shields.

My Bloody Valentine – You Made Me Realise Lyrics 3 months ago
Okay, the song is two people meeting, and the singer is confused and lost, but whatever happens, he's asking this parnter, lover, whatever, can I rely on your fidelty to see this through? I don't know which was is up right now but I love you and I think you're the key - you've made me realise what I might be capable of, what we might be capable of. And he's saying I don't what you expected to find but get inside because I think you're the key to this whole thing. Each line is contradicted, by next one, and he doesn't know which was is up and he can't guarantee anything but he's laying it all on the line because he think's she's the key and he's asking, are you in? That's what it comes down to. He's saying to Bilinda, ARE YOU IN FOR THE LONG HAUL?

They were on the verge of breaking up when Creation gave them a chance to do an EP, and they said it's not going to sound like anything else they'd done before. McGee was like fine. And so they finally had nothing to lose - having gotten nowhere over the last 4 years, and so by finally allowing their influences to show, they came up with something original, which was hinted at by songs like Strawberry Wine and She Loves You No Less after Bilinda joined which were songs finally greater than the sum of their part, but it still wasn't wholy original; it wasn't their true voice. They sort of thought of this as a spoof of Sonic Youth, but it has so much more bass presence and drive than any of those bands The Jesus and Mary Chain wouldn't catch up until Reverence. No one did anything like this with noise, rhythm, and melodies, and just allure. It's just sexy. Not exactly sure when Bilinda and Kevin became an item, but she was with that French guy when she joined six months earlier; he is the father of Toby. So this could be around when they finally go together. This song is so desperate; Bilinda was the final piece of the puzzle, so talented on her own, and his muse. He wants to know; ARE YOU IN?

@[atomsplitter:54586] It's not dated. It a certain aesthetic they went for based on what they had access to and it works beautifully. It's not lo-fi either. I don't think you understand what lo-fi is. They changed so as to not repeat themselves around Glider, sound wise, but Shields doesn't think this sucks. He's proud of it. It's wicked. It will never be dated anymore than Strawberry Fields Forever, or Gimme Shelter. It's what they were going for. They didn't release two EP's after Isn't Anything because they were unhappy with them. Not this.

Jesus, it's 'filthy dirty' not 'filthy daddy'. That's atrocious. she's so much better than that. Listen to the song slowed down. Listent to it sped up. It's 'filthy dirty.' Could it be any more plain, even at regular speed. Please correct it.

I've listened to this song and bootlegs of this songs hundreds of times. I actually wrote a book about MBV: Turn My Head Into Sound coming in a few months. The second line is 'sickly heavy high.' It's about something overwhelming you ingest, much like Strawberry Wine, from an anecdote by Roland Howard of the Birthday Party . Listen to any bootleg, listen to the album. 'heavy heart' is clumsy and not what Bilinda would every write. PLEASE correct it. Don't take my word. Find some bootlegs. Listen to the album, slowed down. 'Sickly Heavy High.' It bothers me because it's so clumsy, and goofy. 'Sickly Heavy High makes so much more sense, and is elegant. Bilinda is a better writer than what you have posted.

@[GanjaMama:47113] Hey this is pretty good recitation of the lyrics from that song. You can hear it when a word is right usually. It fits perfectly. There's no question and you can hear what they're saying now without any help.

Have you tried to write down all MBV songs after 1989? If you have done the hard ones like "Soon" and "Only Shallow" and others I'll pay you a small amount for them and maybe you can do others for me. I'll pay you upfront. Its will either go in my book or on my site . Go to TurnMyHeadIntoSound.com and register there or just email me at mbvbook72@gmail.com. Thanks. Andrew

PJ Harvey – This Mess We're In Lyrics 4 years ago
WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.

This is not about just some affair. Listen to the drama. They did something they can't undo like killed someone. Something so bad that they have to separate and never see each other again. AND RUN. Can they really be in that big a mess from just having an affair which people do all the time? CAN'T YOU HEAR THEIR VERY EXISTENCE IS ON THE LINE? They have to separate and run. See the Cate Blanchett movie Heaven where a guard helps a woman escape from jail after she accidentally kills the wrong person. They're in a true jam. THAT's THE KIND OF MESS THEY'RE IN. They may have used the song in that movie. Not sure if I'm imagining it or if that's where I first heard the song.

Helicopters overhead. They're not even sure what day it is. This is not about some simple affair. The sun is setting on them. Their world is ending. Death or a life in jail is at their door.

DEATH and PEOPLE HUNTING THEM TO PUT THEM AWAY. THATS THE MESS THEIR IN. Everything is coming down. THAT"S THE MESS THEY"RE IN. Not just some couple screwing around.

Listen to their voices.
