Hello everyone, I'm here to tell you the truth about Demi Lovato's 'Cool for the Summer' and what it's eally about. Prepare to be enlightened, and simultaneously disturbed. let's dispell this widely held idea that it's about her exploring her (bi)sexuality by having a fling with a girl, because It's fucking not. I mean, come on! It's It's 20-fucking-19. Do you really think this taboo-sounding song is about getting it on with a girl? How can it be? Being gay or bisexual and/or experimenting with the same sex isn't even remotely taboo anymore. Society has well and truly evolved beyond questioning whether its right or wrong; these days it's accepted/normal. It's certainly not something most *young* people - people in Demi's generation- would hide. Especially not a notoriously rebellious, hedonistic, HIGHLY SEXUAL (thank you, bipolar disorder) woman with a back catalogue of breathy vocals, sexually suggestive lyrics and albums littered with sexual innuendo. 'Cool for the Summer' is about Necrophilia. A fetish of the highest extreme, and the ultimate taboo, necrophilia involves having sex with someone who's dead, or being fucked when you're dead. Cool For The Summer eludes to the practice of being on the literal BRINK of death (usually achieved though asphyxiation / being choked out) and then getting fucked while 'dead', before being revived/brought back to life. It's SO obvious-she even literally SPELLS IT OUT (die for each other). !!!Not to mention eluding to potentially going to jail if It goes wrong and, you know...(Do the time). Don't believe me?
