| @[strzrz:30091] Hiding who you really are from your friends and the world is painful and even though you can surround yourself with as many people as you can, loneliness is something that won't change if no one sees you. One of my favorite songs of all time because its cryptic and personal with no clear answer to a very frustrating thing. Its coming from a place of difficulty accepting yourself hidden behind an upbeat melody. | |

"Smooth like a rolling crystal ball Heading for a sideline straight towards the fall No one will get through No one will get through at all" Being able to skate by, easy going, and probably popular with others but still able to keep yourself from being the center of attention out of fear of others knowing who you really are. This creates a fault in yourself that could cause this "fall" because its something you're choosing not to fix. No one can see the real you or break through the walls you've built around yourself to keep you from self destructing. "The night sky illuminates it all Like a distant firefight always orchestral The sun is coming soon Just to pass by you, by you" Contradictions show that you aren't being yourself. You ignore your problems by keeping them far from yourself. Time goes on and you choose to not change or fix those problems. "And I will hide myself away Save all these people for another day And I will hide myself away Just to spite them all for another day" You can't show anyone who you really are, you feel like maybe you could someday, but it doesn't feel like you can. You're making excuses to not be true to yourself. You feel like everyone is your worst enemy and you can't be yourself because of it. "The moon comes down on me again Soon this lonely dream now slowly will begin Giving me this pain This paralyzing pain again" When you're alone, maybe when you're lying in bed and with only your thoughts, you realize how lonely you really are. Only you know you, and its painful knowing that everyone else sees this mask you put up, only making it worse knowing things won't change. "And I will hide myself away Much to the chagrin of everyone this day And I am not much a friend this way No, I'm not fit to wear that hat today" You feel like everyone is frustrated with who you are, like they see through the mask you put up. You acknowledge that maybe it doesn't make you a good friend to others if you can't be you around them. But that's still not enough to change your mind. |
