| Pearl Jam – Better Man Lyrics | 6 years ago |
| I've read that Eddie saidthis song was written a long time ago, about a women trapped in an abusive relationhip. Still I always heard it differently. I actually think Eddie dated a disabled woman (possibly with MS.). At one of his Bridge School benefit concerts for MS, he says the song is for his girlfriend, who is sitting in the audience. Take the lines, "She practices her speech." A person with MS would do that a lot. Also when he sings "she dreams in red." While red can mean mean passion, or power, it can also mean a lack or inability to have energy. People with MS or often fatigued. Finally when he sings, "can't find a better man," I hear that line kind of about her, and the difficulties she has dating, since her disability doesn't give her the chance for another relationship, If he was in a relationship wt a girl wt MS, and if he was able to look beyond her disibility, that would a good thing. Relationships end for a lot of reasons, so I'm not judging. Any thoughts? | |
| Genesis – Silver Rainbow Lyrics | 6 years ago |

I believe this song as being about sex & more specifically the big O. So many lines, are about it, " And you keep on going 'cause you're unaware Then you know that you are there," and "If you're sitting there beside her With your arms you hold her close, And you're wondering just how far she'll let you go." It might be about both men & women having an O, because of the lines, "you haven't been there either," and "you won't know if you're coming or going." The silver rainbow 'might' be the zipper, but I always heard something different. Not trying to gross anyone out, but the way I always understood it when I was a sex crazed teenage boy 30 years ago, was that the silver rainbow referred to a man's ... seed. Anyone else ever hear it that way. |
