This song very obviously conveys the feelings of giving up and letting go. It could mean a million things. Giving up on a person that won't help themselves, letting go of a relationship, or just giving up on yourself. It brings to mind a sort of struggle to hold on to hope until the very end when you realize it's not there, nor was ever there to begin with. So you let yourself fall and you don't get back up. You leave hope behind. |

This song reminds me so much of Korns "4U". I get so much of a sense that he's not just talking to the poeple he really knows and loves... like he's talking to his fans. I mean, if you've ever been to a concert for any band like this... the overwhelming feeling you get realizing that just about every single person there has felt like you at one time or another and this band is your connection. Can you imagine how it would feel for someone like Aaron Lewis? Stainds music, while also being really well written songs with a deeper meaning are just crying and bitching on the surface... it's almost like he's going over it all and saying "I'm sorry for complaining so much. I just didn't see the world like I do now, but thank you for making me see it. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone."

Dammit... you people are fucking idiots... the song is the complete OPPOSITE of what neerob says.
It's telling people that believe in God that there IS a possibility that God does not exist. He's not saying he does or does not... but the fact that you would even implicate that people who don't have complete faith in God are narrow minded is absurd. Those push faith to the limits, while I di have respect for them, are some of the most narrow minded people in the world. They will NEVER accept anything other than what they believe, not even the possibility.

Actually, I don't think that line sums up the song at all. You see, I think "Come Again" is taking the sexual meaning of the word "come" and using it as a metaphor for needing something. Basically, I feel that the song is about someone in Aarons life that is taking advantage of him and only uses him when they need to "come again". |

This song has an interesting meaning to me personally. When I was in school, I almost never did school work. I understood it completely, but the work bored me, so instead I just slept. The teachers decided to bug me to death about it, so I just started doing the work. Except the work I was handing in was just answers out of a book I had stolen from the teachers office. And any english was me spewing a lot of creative bullshit. I was conducting an experiment to see how far I could get by fucking around... and I graduated. But everyday, I got paranoid that they were going to find out... sometimes I almost did the work for real a couple of times to try and phase the lie out. Doesn't matter now, though. It's not as if they're going to check. I didn't fight the system, I just fooled it. May sounds cocky, but I am one smart bastard. |

Make peace with God? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The song is about Christian/Catholic(as if there's a difference) sinners. Just because you claim to believe in a higher power and claim that you're a follower, it doesn't mean all the wrong you've done in life is wiped clean. This song is directed at people that try to tell you how to live your life, mainly those that try and push their religion on you. David really hates when people tell him he's wrong or anything like that because of what THEY believe. So he's telling them "I may not have the same beliefs as you, but I do things my own way, and it doesn't make me wrong." After so much pushing, he's decided that the way those people live is something he never wants to be, and he turns away from their religion.
The conversation with God is good theory too(hey, he fucking said it himself), but you gotta try and not take everything he says so literal. |
