It's amazing how many people fall for the trolls. They make up shit at interviews to mess with the fans. Isn't that obvious? It's about getting mad. "YOU" do not have some deep insight to prove you are smarter than everyone else. Now stop the BS. |

| Killing Joke – Adorations Lyrics

0=2 Opposites are the same thing, and together, a greater understanding, which of course, has to be nothing. (In contrast to 1=2, which means that defining anything implies that it has an opposite.)
BTW, contrary to what _Novocastrian_ says, Jaz is a gnostic Rosecrucian, and is also a christian minister. Adorations are a religious ritual, so how can this be anti-religion? |

I'll point out one particular line from Liber Legis, which was a big influence on this album and the preceding two: "I am the warrior lord of the 40s. The 80s cower before me and are abased." |

| Killing Joke – Love Like Blood Lyrics
|
|
OK, gloves off, let's get into it. First the three albums Revelations, Firedances, and Nighttime carry the themes of Liber Legis in reverse order, chapters 3, 2, and 1. In particular, this can be seen in the songs "Chapter 3," "Let's All Go," and "Nighttime." One theme in Liber Legis is the announcement of the new aeon of Horus, represented by red, and old aeon of Osiris, the grey. "As we move towards no end" Just like the cycle of the Aeons, the cycle of life is unending. "We learn to die" Our bodies die, but the essence (I hate to use the word soul) is born anew. "Til the fearless come" We struggle and fight while alive, but we have to learn to let go and accept death without fear. "Til legends live and man is god again" To quote Liber Legis, "Every man and woman is a star." Finally, "A love like blood" represents both the joys of "glorious struggle" welcoming the new age of "The crowned and conquering child." Well that's kind of a mess, but I think I hit on the main points. |

| The Police – Synchronicity II Lyrics
|
|
So many people think this about a man killing his family..... No. It is the OPPOSITE. First, you have to understand the title. Synchronicity (considered metaphysical or pseudo-science) is the theory that an action at one place can cause an effect at another, with no visible physical connection. In this case, the vast distance between the working class family (probably in England or Wales) and the happenings a long ways away in Scotland. The man is filled with despair, but has no outlet for his strong feelings. Those feelings manifest in a dark, evil happening a long ways a way. His pent up depression CREATES the physical monster. |

| Bauhaus – The Passion Of Lovers Lyrics
|
Line by line, let's see what we get:
She had nut painted arms --> Liber Legis talks of three entities, Nuit (or Nut), Had it, and RaHoorKuit. These are the arms of the goddess of the night sky.
That were hers to keep
And in her fear --> fear is an aspect of night
She sought cracked pleasures --> veiled vagina reference
The passion of lovers is for death said she -> The connection between sex and death, Le Petite Mort
Licked her lips --> vagina again
And turned to feather --> Horus, the hawk god ?
And as I watched from underneath --> Under the night sky
I came aware of all that she keep --> Nature, the world around you
The little foxes so safe and sound
They were not dead
They'd gone to ground --> It's night, time for sleep
She breaks her heart
Just a little too much
And her jokes attract the lucky bad type --> the female essence is introspective and sad, the masculine is aggressive
As she dips and wails
And slips her banshee smile --> describing sex with the male above
She gets the better of the bigger to the letter |

| Bauhaus – A God in an Alcove Lyrics
|
Diagnosing the second stanza:
Once he spread the rain
So they dreamt in vain
Once he spread the wheat
Had made garlands for his feet --> Christ, in the past
Until the lily poet of our times --> Aleister Crowley
Horizoned on the line
Love became the in theme then --> Liber Legis, "Love is the law"
Opposing fakers thrice by ten --> Catholic Trinity out, Kabbalah in
Don't perceive his empty plea
That redundant effigy --> Jesus, the death god
So it's the decline of Christianity, to be replace with the new Thelema. |

@[hornytheclown:34134] Sometimes a song is just what it says it is. Tyler is a Sci/Fi watching, D&D playing geek, and in this case, it's more of a Sci Fi short story than anything "deep." |

| Electric Six – Hello! I See You! Lyrics
| 6 years ago
|
|
This is a response to all the Christian "love Jesus" songs out there. What's the opposite of worshipping Jesus? Of course it's about worshipping Satan. Not that Tyler is a "Satanist," he's more of a satirist. The Devil arrives to bring on the end of days, and the narrator is thoroughly in the "camp of the bad guys." But it's not all good, since "the music hurts." However everything will be totally cool. So he's got that going for him. |

| Electric Six – French Bacon Lyrics

A lot of their songs are narrative, that is, they tell a story. In this case, he is talking about a super villain. Phrases that xxxx this are: brand X spandex (superhero's favorite clothing), "dying" "from a device of her own making (mad scientist invention), "Nobody's all bad, nobody's all good" referencing the morality of super heroes verses super villains (she's not all bad), "famous mime" may be super villain face paint (like the Joker), "he's a time-bomb, time-bomb" is her villainous character, "I knew she couldn't hang," may be that she's escaped punishment (as opposed to hand like hanging out, or hang with us). As always, I may be completely wrong. |

| Electric Six – Gridlock! Lyrics

Electric Six lyrics are always fun, because Taylor throws in his usual references to vampires, dancing, etc. I'm convinced that he will also throw in some random lines just because they made good rhymes, not that they have anything to do with the theme of the song. That said, I'll make a guess that "police chief" and "joker poker" are references to Batman, in particular, the original Tim Burton film. This may be related to "Improper Dancing," which references calling the Chief of Police. In particular, the climactic scene with the Joker's parade that ties up traffic in Gotham City. OR, I could be completely wrong. |

No one seems to mention that this song follows Electric Demons in Love on the album. One song is about electric demons starting fires. The other song is about electric demons starting fires. That's why they have electric light up bits in the video. Knowing that they are demons makes this song even creepier. |

| Electric Six – After Hours Lyrics

Cokey Joe seems to be a recurring name in various old films, including Boris Karloff in Young Donovan's Kid. The song goes from a minimum wage job to immortality by meeting Satan at the dance club. Is that narrative in reference to something else? I think with this one I'll stick with the direct meaning. |

| Electric Six – It Gets Hot Lyrics

Well, the song has two of Tyler's favorite subjects, Satan and Dance Clubs. "Ripping off your bandages" may refer to exposing your real self, exposing your lies. Someone is burning all the folks, probably old Satan who makes an appearance. Now what the fire represents, I dunno, literally fire? Should check the rest of the songs on the album, since there are usually some connections between songs. |

| Electric Six – Danger! High Voltage Lyrics

|
This, their first album, is full of songs that they worked on for years before becoming Electric Six. They said that the word fire kept showing up in lyrics, so they named the album appropriately. Anyway, there is probably some interconnecting with Electric Demons in Love, which is BASICALLY the same song, thematically. Throw in the faux Satanism is later albums, and you get a D&D playing geek mixing metaphors and just having fun. So the "meaning" may be vapid, but the theme is strong. (See GWAR.) |

It's not your fault that you don't understand this. You cannot interpret it without at least basic knowledge of the Kabbalah.
The Towers are the Tower, the trump of the Tarot. The Sands of Time is the High Priestess. Heaven is Kether, the top of the Tree of Life. It's givin' me a second life is to transcend from the material to the spiritual.
So in total, it's a description of the Babe of the Abyss. In other words, the path from Tiphareth to Kether. |

| Joy Division – Disorder Lyrics
|
Wow. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with epilepsy. I guess people feel "smart" now that they've figured it out, but no. You couldn't be more wrong. You cannot understand this song without some basic knowledge of Western Kabbalah. Jazz Coleman of Killing Joke has gone on record as saying that the song writer was (also) heavily into this esoteric form of western magick.
In the Kabbalah, the bottom is the material world. Middle is the world of thoughts and emotions. Top is the world of the divine, inspiration, transcendence.
The way up is known as the path of the snake. It's slow and long. The path back is the lightning bolt, back down like a shot.
The guide is the narrator's guardian spirit, or true will, leading him up the tree, from the drudgery of the everyday world to a level of divine inspiration, the 10th sephiroth, the very top.
He sees the back stairs, the lightning bolt, to take him back down to the material, but does want to go yet.
He crashes back down, but remembers the experience. He waits for the spirit to take him back to the land of inspiration. |
