There is a faster but more deadpan version of this song on an old demo tape of theirs - you can find it on soulseek I think. The only difference between the two versions is that in the faster one he changes the emphasis of the words "you know" on the the first line so that it rhymes with "although" later on, so that its: We could be from the same mother you know Maybe we are brothers I don't think that he said anything although It was obviously said and strongly and wise The rhyme is less obvious on the LP version. |

Well leave it to someone with my screen name to say something - hehe. The only other place that I have seen the word "lyburnum" is in a poem by a man named Louis MacNeice. I tried to google and find the specific poem but I couldn't find it. Also if yall get the vinyl for Lybrunum, it comes with a semi-accurate lyrics sheet. |

I think the plank in the eye line is a reference to Jesus' advice not to concentrate on a speck of dust in someone else's eyes when you have an entire plank of wood in your own. I've always took the big white horse coming down as a reference to that kids show in which a boy has a white toy horse (or pegasus?) that comes to life at night. Anyone remember that? |
