First time I heard this song with the video. I thought it was the perfect love song. The melody, the tone of his voice, the dancing. But after a few listens, I think it's about him stringing along a girl until he's ready. Sounds like he's not ready to emotionally commit (or has other reasons for being distant) so he keeps her in love with him by playing games with her (hence the dancing in the video and dark side of the gym) almost like he's stalking her. He doesn't want her to be with anyone else but doesn't want her yet. He has plans for her later. |
