I think it's about addiction. Specifically crystal meth. Addiction is referenced numerous times on the album. Meth hits retardedly hard with the continuous happiness chemical dopamine. Needing to change things such as the drapes, paints and frames etc. Reminds me of a tweaked who can't seem to get what they are working on good enough. After that the crash comes and you need to.... Wake up,wake up, wake up! “In a hale of sparks and a tangle of wires." Electronics are a meth heads favourite toys. So where has all the day gone? And why are my lungs aching when I breathe? Is there something wrong with the heat? Why am I so cold? And my heart feels sick And it hurts when I speak And this is not what I hoped for It starts out like a wonder drug. Couldn't be better. It changes over time. You lose time tweaking away on your little projects. Smoking meth annihilates your lungs. Constricting blood cells it reduces circulation and your whole body feels cold. Meth increases your heart rate. With chronic long term use it becomes enlarged and tachycardia is quite common. Pretty soon your thinking this is not what I had in mind. I didn't plan on this. THIS IS NOT WHAT I HOPED FOR! |

@[x32543:21574] sounds a lot like what I just came out of. Only 8 months instead of 6. Everything you are saying about lies and using you. Sounds like she had narcissistic personality disorder. I started catching really weird behaviour and would point it out as it happened as being abnormal and maybe she should seek professional mental help. Not in an antagonizing way, but honestly worried. Youtube has some great stuff from counsellors explaining NPD. Gaslighting is the lying all the time bit. It's incredibly eerie once you realize what just happened to you. I'm gonna venture a guess and say she was the victim of abuse or abandonment as a child. Unfortunately it is these abused children who turn into the evil that is a narcissist. |

I think these lyrics literally scream about a narcissist. No matter what he does for the narcicisst it's not enough. And as soon as he is gone he will be replaced by another victim of the need for narcissistic supply. A slave. Once that slave is found he is free. This is my current anthem and hits incredibly close to home. Now I'm free of what you are! Great song. |
