To me, this song is about the slaughter of Native Americans. Sticks that made thunder- they were unfamiliar with guns. Those that have fallen come when I call them- this is about ancestors. My roots are deeper than the bones the others, my colors they change with the sun.- the speaker is native american. This could be through my lens, as I am about a quarter or so. Just sayin' this is what I thought when I first heard this song. Beautiful. |
