For me, the first verse is a short reminder of the simplicities of life (the little girl arguing with her little brother saying "quit kicking me under the table," when she's trying to have a moment on her birthday when she opens her gift), and the second verse is reminder of our mortality and a reminder that we fight over trivial things (kicking under the table). Every time we take deep breathes we are reminded of our bodies, our minds, our souls, and that we are totally fucking alive right now and should live every single day fruitfully. |
