The song is about jealousy and how it rocks and shakes men to their core. It takes them do EXTREMES that (makes them) DO THINGS TO GET things they need to POSSESS. It's not as much inner-self, it's "spiritual" and Peter does write with Christian like values although I do not know if he knows "complete truth" relating the God's Word through Jesus. he MAKES the point by shaking the desk, shaking the tree and shocking the monkey. We're hard wired by God..... :) with self conscious and we're rocked to our core in inner turmoil when we go too far to POSSESS and are reminded later in our sleep. There was no "sleep isle" at the store when this video/song came out, go see the over 300 sleep aids today. It's A Broken World. Find The Father through The Son, Jesus, He's waiting

REO Speedwagon – Roll With The Changes Lyrics 7 years ago
Very interesting. I knew (going in) I anticipated (going in) how i thought I'd be reading all the comments. Then again, I didn't think there would be too many. :) anyway... It interests me so how most people feel it's always them. In this song I truly believe He found His answer in a "Good Book" he read and then followed it and lived by it? I know I'll be clobbered by someone for saying ti, eventually but if I do. (IN advance) Love You. God Bless. It's how to roll....

@[PriestofSyrinx:19082] love it, "jealous hearts"/"the difference between you and I is your heart is inside your head". Told my ex wife that (not trying to get back at her, for her) and well, I'm well and wished her the same. That way He, works in relationships-lost-and-learned-from. Thanks, nicely written!

The Who – It's Hard Lyrics 7 years ago
Don't imagine many people have or will look this Who song up? Pete Townsend is one of my favorite writers but ya' know? Why this song? You? It's six amazing lyrics for me. "ANYONE CAN STOP, FEW CAN WAIT". Experience Death, Divorce, Drugs, Diagnosis and or Dysfunction in life and those six words hold a vital key to growth and understanding and for me, left me looking up. Chicago "I've Been Searchin' So Long" and Jesus took me the rest of the way. Peace out. :) all from six words and it only took me 50 years to find Him. and the church said? :) Amen.

Kansas – Dust In The Wind Lyrics 7 years ago
Just adding to "stringofpearls" below. With Kerry being a Sunday school teacher at T.B.C. in Topeka (and his incredible knowledge in scripture). I always believed he took "dust" from Isa. 40 "dust on the scales". Both are incredible pinpoint views of who we are (and as The Temptations sung in '70), on this "ball of confusion" we're on. I hope dearly that no one is lead to believe I mean to lessen (in any way) the beauty and significance of such a masterpiece. The Miracles Out Of Nowhere Tour was great but without Kerry, it can't ever be the same "Two for the Show". :) Peace.

For me this is just why people type here. It's an almost guarantee happy or sad appreciative or unappreciative in life, we're "searchers and dreamers"...or else why do we read and sometimes maybe read too much in-to songz. But it can be joyous when you've found what it is your looking for. So (based on that)? Would you hold it against me if I took this song in as purely spiritual (for me). We share and try to be respectful and love the person regardless, because if you can't who then loses? God Bless You. I remember when that was always okay, to say...Peace. Out.

Check out where Kerry is today? Relistening to a song from 30 years ago today and maybe want to see where he got it from? Kerry's a Christian and a Sunday school teacher still in the "heartland". The truth in the song is found and rooted in the book of Isaiah, "Dust on the Scales". Nothin' like Re - listening and relearning what most of His songs are about and from. Surprise is Kansas, Genesis and Yes and what they have in common...rest is up2u2cy somethingz in rock are hidden because it's what's insidesongz when we get older, wiser and sometimes are broken and get divorced, get to Re - listen, find truth in love and share with an open heart, in HUMILITY. G.B. See what I mean? He filled in the blanks for me.

Came here because of..?? Look for Michael McDonald sing "Sweet Freedom". The song from him that's a key to read a good book, maybe even The Good Book. Hmm... happy reading. May God Bless is the hint...Finding Freedom in ancient words could be the key.

Could the difference be as simple as two words in this song? Of thinking, knowing or dreaming? Two words sung and (if you read carefully) are "Reality" and "Nothing" and why, sometimes, everybody see's but the person who wants... something he will never get. Why? In my case, "it takes one, to know one". I'm singing about "What a fool receives". In 1972 "The Main Ingredient" sung it best, "Everybody plays the fool". ***It's never what you know, it's what you learned and how some share, in HUMILITY and then waits and shares. Love, learn & share openly and honestly. Find One Love and keep it. Hope. Love. Joy. Peace, out.
