Creedence Clearwater Revival – Hey Tonight Lyrics 2 years ago

In the military "Jody" is someone who's stealing your girl (or guy) while you're not there. So I'm not sure why they'd use that in this instance, but "get religion all night" - yeah I agree that's what they mean.

Roy Orbison – Shahdaroba Lyrics 6 years ago
I think the title is a loose phoenetic translation of the word "Inshalla". I've read that "aroba" means Arab. Inshalla means "If it is God's will, it will be so". Since the opening of the song sets the song in an ancient land along the Nile, this interpretation makes sense.

The Low Anthem – Charlie Darwin Lyrics 8 years ago
@[Buck:22312] It wasn't me who said the U.S. was "the greatest nation to ever exist". I don't think that and never said it. Don't misquote me. It was someone using the title "Light The Way" and that is not me and has nothing to do with me.

The Low Anthem – Charlie Darwin Lyrics 9 years ago

I think yours is the best answer to the meaning of the song. It's not about religion, as some here have posted. Charles Darwin was actually a Christian but back in the day his work was not accepted as being in line with those beliefs, just as Copernicus in his time. Darwin proved that everything is in continual evolution to best suit its changing surroundings, in order to survive. The lyrics are crying out about where that evolution has taken us, or where has the evolution gone. It seems that things have stopped evolving, and instead we are left sinking in the mire of our current surroundings.
