Looks like I'm the first to comment on this one and for some reason that makes me nervous! This is especially true because I haven't got a clue what the song means and I came here hoping to find out. But I'll have a bit of a guess: Maybe this is about a homeless person having a fantasy about a better life. All the imagery used is about escape (sense of time unravels) and feelings welling up ready to explode into some kind of action (...from earth's hot centre). I would like to see someone go through the lyrics line by line and explain the intention. |

I think this is a dirty song. She is fantasizing about sex with Elvis in some mushroom trip she is having and in her dream she is wondering how to tell Kurt Cobain that Elvis took her virginity (elvis took first base) 'base' might be a reference to drugs also. Kurt is 'all in her face'.. could be talking about a cumshot lol but it could also be that Kurt found out aboput Elvis and was not too pleased. Uncle's Monkey is a reference to the penis of her uncle. Her uncle may have had sex with her but she doesn't blame him for wanting to get out of the 'zoo' where he felt trapped. There's lots of ways to interpret this song but I think I prefer the rude ones : () |
