accidentally submitted before finishing... so now destitute - and reflecting on the loses - and the loses of his buds from addiction - but he then sets up the 3 stanza of finding recovery - he was going to kill himself but the sun burst through the sky - then he just like the "every junkie is like a settin sun" he starts with the hopeless desire to use - the thinking about what a friend had said I was hoping it was a lie.... these are loses from addiction - and he wants it to go away - he wanted to use and numb himself " there was a band playing" these are his bros and the news was fatal - third stanza - recovery - flying mothers nature silver seed to a NEW home.... |

you guys have all missed the obvious - this again goes back to addiction - "I was lying in a burned out basement" - this is the same basement that Neil found heroin in "the damage done" I caught you knocking at my cellar door - I love you baby can I have some more... " it's burned out now - the addiction has taken it's toll - "I was looking for replacement" - he was done - he wanted to die... back to the first stanza - it's was majestic - it was a majestic time - knights in armor and the queen and the peasants and drummers (musicians were know as lesser in those times) had arrived - they were inclusive - drug use and music was now accepted and not frowned upon in the seventies - it was free love and peace -we are the people of the earth - the chose ones of Mother Earth - - but then Neil moves us to a place concluding the stanza where there is the downfall - they are on the run "we got Mother nature on the run" - the good times are dwindelling and the repercussions of the party times have set in... back to second stanza - e have went to majestic times to the burned out basement - things could not be worse - they have fallen... |

it's all about BOTH - that was Dio's message - for this album and all the albums to follow that everything is infinite - we are both evil and divine - its both religion and government - it's infinite - a circle - a ring - but we are the last to know - no matter how conscious we make ourselves we are still the last in line... Dio was genius - ozzy wrote metal lyrics to good metal music - Dio took us to another level - Dio was the dancer - he was the singer - he was the good - he was the badf - and he was telling us all that we are to - we are dancer - we are the singer - we are good - we are evil - we are heaven - we are hell - we are the government - we are God - we are the first - and we are the last... |

the comment about Dio's songs meaning nothing is ABSURD - this song is the punch to Heaven & Hell - Dio's whole message and especially in this song is that we are neither and we are both - we are evil and we are divine - we are heaven and we are hell - it's a circle - a ring - it's INFINITE - it is the question of the egg and the chicken... nothings in the past - it comes again and again and again... every stanza in the song suggest both entities: legions of the brave - jackals of the streets protectors of the realm - acroos the sea of lights (river styx to hell) blessed by the night - toll of the bell bloodied angels fast descending - all in one line - maybe the greatest lyric ever written this is about the infinite question - and Dio is replying that we are both - Dio was a million times more creative than Ozzy could have dreamed of being - the Heaven & Hell tour was a work of GENUIS - what Dio did was come in with just part of Heaven & Hell inbetween every couple of songs - and he would remind us that it "goes on and on and on and on and on... " every couple of songs he would do a single line or stanza of Heaven & Hell and then "it goes on and on" - until finally they closed with the entire song - sheer GENUIS - Dio is without doubt one of thee greatest metal writers of all time - |

| the song is about a girl that has over stayed her welcome - she killed the relationship because she couldn't shut up - conversations kill - her dizzy head is conscious laden - he is done and he is having that uncomfortable drive to get rid of her - her name is what it means - she has no name mentioned - she is NOTHING in his eyes - just someone who he regrets not getting rid of long ago | |
