Lindsey Stirling – Shatter Me Lyrics 10 years ago
To me, song is about wanting to make a change in your life, but also realizing how risky change can be.

The image of a music box ballerina in a globe is used as a metaphor. Spinning around in the dark, dancing the same dance and playing the same song until the mechanics stop working. ("We burn every magnet and spring, and spiral into the unkown.") She longs for freedom and wants the globe to be shattered. Though in order to be free, she would have to jump. This is the line of the song that really gets me;

"If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly,
there's no one to catch me if I take the dive.
I'm scared of change and the days stay the same,
The world is spinning, but only in grey."

She makes a choice, and even though she's scared of change and has nobody to tell her the outcome, she's willing to make that choice anyway if it means she won't be stuck spinning around in a globe forever. This song is brilliant to me and extemely relateable in a poetic sort of way.
