| This song is a message to her brother. This is a sister talking to her brother, Tryna get him out of his hole, but with the lyrics alone, her song as a message to him for the sole purpose of making him think about his direction in life. She starts out by comparing her life to his, which all good sisters do. Apparantley Sheryl would say anything to get her bro off the drug, that's why she says "okay I made it up..."so she embellishes her life, but by using simple metaphors, "thrift shop jungle, put on a poncho played for mosquitos, drank till I was thirsty again..." Basically saying she makes money to do some fun shopping, plays music at bars and drinks and has a wild fun time. Yeah, Sheryl gets stoned, but she's not on whatever her brother is on and she's making something of her life, and he's not. Her bro must say something like (and all us addicts do) "a drug is a drug is a drug." But truth be told, her getting stoned is no comparison to any other substance. Then comes the define sentence, "I'm not the kind of girl you'd take home." Where she's basically saying he could never get with a decent chick whose more level headed like herself. She also adds all the little things she does for him, it's subtle but it's all symbols;French toast, comics,... It's just her way of saying how she cares for him, but there's something she knows about her brother, and it's that If the drug makes you happy, then why does this song make you sad? That's the ultimate point of the song. She knows this song will get under his skin. She belongs a long way from him because can't handle his drug use, and he may be happy, but is he really? | |

The lyric is about addiction. More specifically, and less irrelevantly, it's about smoking crystal meth out of a pookie, or a glass meth pipe. Anybody whose ever done the drug before can easily relate to each and every line of the lyric. 1. "Run desire run Sexual being Run him like a blade To and through the heart" Crystal meth dramatically induces libido Gets the heart straight to pumping, smoke slices thru your body like a knife and hits heart and gets libido gears running 2. "No conscience One Motive Cater to the hollow" Cater to the hollow? The hollow. The hole you cater to when your packing another hit into that hollow meth pipe of yours? No conscience, no conscientious objecting thought about what problems this drug brings mentally socially and physically 3."Screaming feed me here Fill me up again Temporarily pacify this hungering Definition of addiction, especially a drug as addicting as crystal meth. Pacify this hungering temporarily... What happens when u smoke that stuff? It temporarily relieves you of hunger... 4. "So grow, libido throw dominoes of indiscretion down, falling all around in cycles, in circles, constantly consuming, conquer and devour" So grow libido; Again, smoking increases libido. But also, the urge to get high is nearly as consistent as need to fulfill the sexual urge Throw dominoes of indiscretion down ; watch the Crystal shards drop like dominoes into the hole of the pipe, TURN THE FIRE UP (this is in CAPS forms reason, will be explained shortly), spin the pipe clockwise and counter clockwise, watch the crystals melt into the liquid as its "falling all around in cycles, in circles," and the liquid devours the crystal shards into itself and there, hence the liquid is "constantly consuming, conquer(ing), and devour(ing)" the solid crystal. 5. "Cause it's time to bring the fire down Bridle all this indiscretion Long enough to edify And permanently fill this hollow" "TIME TO BRING THIS FIRE DOWN." Earlier the reader may have noticed "TURN THE FIRE UP." For anyone whose ever smoked the drug correctly, let it be known that crystal meth does not require ridiculous heat to be smoked. That is actually dangerous, because you carbonized the drug meant to be smokes, and you are left with smoking toxic waste. So anyway, when meth is smoked correctly, you bring the fire down and begin to smoke. "Bridle all this indiscretion'" meaning to say Steadily and evenly heat apply heat to the pipe while hitting and inhale in a controlled manner. This is the only safe way to smoke something that is littered with battery acid and toxic fecal matter. "Long enough to edify, and permanently fill this hollow." This has got to imply that the tweaker exampled in this lyric is tweaking on the thought of keeping that pipe permanently packed. 6.The last closing lines, again, define the bouts of addiction.
