I think this is a prayer to God (Father). We need forgiveness, and the singer has been on some "wayward ways". There are failings in the life that can't be undone, but still it's important to "tell your children that their time has just begun". We need to live life in the present, even though the past might haunt us. Only love and forgiveness can restore the clarity into our lives. <3 <3 <3 In society there's lies and there are enemies that we need to define, so we know what we fight against. |

I think the first two verses talk about Christianity; the singer has lived long without the truth ("It's been as nothing"), but at some point he sees it all hold together ("--I can feel it / I believe it"). Also, "I almost / Feel to follow" is interpreted by me to mean submitting to God; he almost feels like following instead of relying on himself. It's never too late to stay in the truth, until it's too late (when life i over). Someone stronger than him couldn't leave the trurth, so it's probably better than what it seems like. |
