Personally, I believe it's about having se with the person you love for the first time. Like in the first verse "We've waited so damn long, we're sick and tired" They decided to wait and know they can't take it anymore "I won't leave any doubt or stone unturned" Now that they're about to have sex, he's gonna use it to show how deeply in love with her he is by basically loving her in everyday possible. "I've got a collar full of chemistry from your company" He has so much love and lust for her So maybe tonight I'll be the libertine" A libertine is basically someone who acts without morals, especially in sexual matters. And the chorus "Show me your love, your love" Gimme more but it's not enough Show me your love, your love" No matter how much "love" they make in the time they have it'll never truly be enough "Before the world catches up" They're so into the moment that they're in their own world and have left reality behind "'Cause there's always time for second guesses, I don't wanna know" He wants to show how much he loves her before he changes her mind about him. And every if she does, he doesn't want to know. "If you're gonna be the death of me, that's how I wanna go" Kind of self explanatory And the second verse "You've got it all worked out with so little time" Yeah, this one I have absolutely no clue... "Memories that I'd blackout if you were mine" Hints that perhaps that he's in love with a girl who's already taken or has been through a breakup and he's saying he'll help her forget "You've got a pocket full of reasons why you're here tonight" Maybe she doesn't love him as much as he loves her and her reason for seeping with him are different than his "So, baby, tonight just be the death of me" Again self explanatory But this is just what I get out of the song, I may be wrong but I just wanted to share my thoughts |
