| Disney – We Are One (The Lion King II: Simba's Pride) Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I've listened to this song over and over again and it is by far my favorite song from the Lion King trilogy. The meaning behind this song in my eyes can be many different things. Based on the movie and the fact that Kiera said she doesn't want to be a Princess in Simba's eyes he's stating that this is life and you can't run from it. It's not going to end. It is what it is kind of thing, but every Disney fan knows that this song has much more of a deeper meaning to it. Now if you take the fact that the "outsiders" are a shade or two darker than the pridelanders you'll understand that this movie specifically was a racist movie. Now remember when Kiera and Kovu are standing between Simba and Zira and Kiera states that a wise king once told her that "We are one". Well its in a way saying no one is different. We're all the same inside and out. It only makes sense when you put two and two together. What is the true meaning? Well, it's in the title. We are one. "We are a part of each other." | |

Okay, so I've listened to this song quite a few times and in my opinion she's talking about people not being who they truly are. "Everyone started out a little insane, but we learn pretty quick how to fake it for the game" Basically put, we all as little kids were crazy at once. Weird, not normal, but as we got older we put on a mask to make ourselves seem normal. Yes, there are so called freaks out there, but they're all being bullied and none of them are actually standing up to what's right. What's right is that we should all be allowed to be who or what we want to be without being judged. "It isn't pretty, but it's what I am tonight." She doesn't care about whether or not she's pretty. She's proud to call herself a freak because that's what she is. She is NOT the definition of normal. She's far from it. "Everybody's so scared. We don't wanna go there" We're all so comfortable with being similar that we're afraid to be different. We believe that if we're different then we'll get made fun of, but no one is testing that cuz we're all scared. That's just how I see it. |
