I just want to share my thoughts about this terrific intro in my opinion I will divide this song in parts and try to comment to these lines.. Also you have to know that Paul Gray died on a drug overdose (morphium) and he was found dead in his room. "This song is not for the living This song is for the dead" This song is apparently about Paul Gray the bassist who passed away and this song is for him, he should listen to this if he can do this, I dont know :) With my face against the floor I can't see who knocked me out of the way But I have to, so it might as well be today Nothing appeals to me, no one feels like me So I think this is about him being unable to get back up and continue living his life. he was sad and down. and he doesnt want to live anymore and that it was himself who were only aware about this situation. I'm too busy being calm to disappear" this is about the anger other members like his slipknot buddies feels about his death. he never talked about his problems and that he is so unhappy that he wants to die at all. he was too busy to plan his suicide. the voice in this song is very aggressive, its the anger that his friend felt when they heard about this abrupt death. I'm in no shape to be alone Contrary to the shit that you might hear So it should be a better step to talk about this situation and let his friends help him out of this mess. So walk with me, walk with me Don't let this symbolism kill your heart Walk with me, walk with me Just like we should have done right from the start Walk with me, walk with me Don't let this fucking world tear you apart Walk with me references to the problem that he should have talked about his situation and they have perhaps prevent his death. and figure a solution to his problem. anyway would better than to die at all. |
