This is a melancholy song about unrequited love. The sad, heartbreaking tone just gripped your heart from the beginning to end. Internally, he was having a difficult tug-of-war. He was feeling the fatigue of constantly being asked to fill up the void in her life. He knew she couldn't reciprocate his love which he yearningly chase after. They could at best remain as soul-mate friends but definitely not lovers. He wanted to give up trying and move on with his life but is hoping against all hope that she would come to realise his undying love for her after all the sacrifices he had made for her. "Say something, I'm giving up on you." He wasn't sure he could get over the pain or continue with his life as normal if he was to leave. She was probably his first love and he was taking the failure quite hard not quite coming to term with it. "And I will stumble and fall I'm still learning to love Just starting to crawl" You couldn't help it but ache for him the kind of unimaginable sorrow he would wallow himself in should he leave her. I like the kind of straightforward, no bullshit personality that she always portrays in her songs. "Sometimes I hate every single stupid word you say" The guy just gets on the girl's nerves at times when he upset her and pushes all the wrong buttons. "But I hate you, I really hate you" But no matter how furious she was with him, promising herself that this time, I'm not going to let the matter rest and has decided to walk out of the relationship, a part of her keeps pulling her back. "You are an a****** but I love you" Internally, it is a struggle and torture because she is a proud person and couldn't admit in front of him that she couldn't let go. She is so in love with him and the feeling just gets the better of her once again. She forgives and the cycle just repeats itself making her both annoyed and helpless. This catchy song can definitely perk you up when you are fuming mad either with your boyfriend or spouse. |

An interesting, light-hearted song with a playful melody. I love the way it is delivered. The guy seems to be whining because the woman of his dream's father couldn't give them his blessing. Maybe it would help if he could show her dad that he is dependable. Haha.. |

It is not easy to come by a song that strikes a chord with my heart and "All Of Me" is one of those rare gems. It touched me beyond words when I first heard the song. Every word in this song and Legend's fantastic vocal just swept me away. The guy's aching love for his significant other was vividly painted in this song. Just looking at my husband and listening to the song makes me realise what enduring love is. He quietly absorbs all my outbursts, smiles at my craziness, laughs with me at my silliness and accepts me for what I am, never intending to change me. A heartwarming song that celebrates steadfast and unconditional love. Thank you for crafting such a beautiful, endearing song. |
