To me, this song is about that wasteland of time after a relationship has ended, where all you can do is think about them, but you still have to try to live without them. You know you can live without them, which is why you had the strength to break it off, but you still can't stop the flood of memories and emotions that overpower your will to forget and move on. Currently, this song has a lot of meaning for me. I am in a relationship that feels increasingly unsupportive and distant. We started out as the best friends you can imagine, and when we realized that we both wanted something more, we were so passionate. Our chemistry and emotional connection were electric, and we both loved one another more than anything else in the world. Some things have happened since then. I have hurt him very much, and the path to forgiveness will be long and unsteady, both for him and myself. I feel that the relationship is disintegrating and that a parting of ways is inevitable.
