To me the song is not so innocent as people are suggesting, just about open free sex of the 60s. It's lyrics and overtones gives a sense of a domineering older male figure praying on a younger girl. All the lyrics line up with a pimp 'opening the world up' to a young girl. There is an element of mind control in the lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I deeply love the song, and am moved to hear points of view I've never considered before. It is real art. |
