Our Lady Peace – 4 A.M. Lyrics 12 years ago
so as a fan and as a man whos favorite song is this.. Raine wrote this indeed after a dream about his father and around 4 am he made a phone call to a friend.. it is also said that it is For Andrew Maida (4 a.m.) so thats basically it..

I had never dreamed of the same and I dont wake up 4 am to make a call, but personally the song has significance to me on the way the lyrics connects to my life..

Switchfoot – The Blues Lyrics 12 years ago
before anything else, I was so glad I have read each of these interpretation..

Now, the album, Nothing is sound, is probably the most pessimistic album of Switchfoot, as its clearly referenced to Ecclesiastes, w/c is also one of the Bibles pessimistic chapters, in fact you will stumble upon some lyrics w/c is indeed from Ecclesistes..

Ok, so when we look at the lyrics, it was really not a hopeful song, but a very sad one, this came to the point of view of a man, w/c is already awakened (spiritually) who's having disappointments in the world, war, poverty, injustice, senseless, pointless things and all that..I mean look at the lyrics, some is literal in its own might..

The message of the song, is this: nothing really matters, nothing really made sense, and nothing is headed for something good, until the world devotes to God, it is the only way for the real joy.

My favorite line is: "is there any net left that could break our fall?" from Adam to Jesus, so many prophets have come to save us from taking the fall.. but then humanity is still falling.. really sad.. Jesus is the only way brothers and sisters, it's time to cave in.

Switchfoot – Daisy Lyrics 12 years ago
Daisy is clearly a girl here, although it is somewhat comparable to the plant, daisy, because we are like a plant in the field, wherein Jesus is the keeper, and when the time comes the angels will be the reapers separating the good ones from the bad, w/c will be burnt (Bible reference).. anyway back to the point, Daisy was a girl in the middle of a transitional period where she is either giving up her earthly attachments, in exchange for the real cause w/c is for Thy Kingdom's sake.. or not (why another day, another sunrise?)

Our Lady Peace – As Fast As You Can Lyrics 12 years ago
No this is not about break ups, sorry snippy, OLP is way more than that..

I think this song is about, well, a girl or any one else running as fast as she can to survive this world, and all it's rigged ways (fever in her head and a restless soul) a longing for something w/c is not of physical things/ not of this world.. (I got a feeling that the church dont know, but the church dont mind) that would be something that the girl/the singer felt inside that no one understands, not the false teachings of a sold out church or the kids (people w/c are less adults in mind, not in age) we all work on borrowed time, well this is obviously our mortality, that we are only here for a short time, so run away because the ways of the world, its traditions and practices is all vain (this is actually from The Bible that of w/c I cant google right now for specific reference, but that it)

Switchfoot – Revenge Lyrics 12 years ago
This is the song about the thief who's spirit is saved on the brink of his death.. (came from Jon himself before he plays the song in 1 of his acoustic performances)

while on the cross, the thief realizes his faults, and it finally dawned on him that this was revenge, not in a bad way, but in a good way, like the revenge of goodness in all these wicked times..

The thief also reflects our generation, as we all lived our life away from God's path, and Jesus payed the price, so that our sins may be forgiven through Him, by only accepting Him, even in the brink of death..
