| It's about aliens. He talks about hearing the lights touch the ground. Which is the ships landing. He sits in the desert (Area 51) waiting for them to land. He knew he could not be drugged, meaning he knew what he was seeing was real and not because he was high. The silhouette in the light was an alien coming out of the ship. The last verse of him walking away is him leaving with them and he starts understanding the gravity of his choice as he leaves the atmosphere and becomes weightless. That's all the secret he has become and he can't find a way out of knowing it. | |

I love the way Hand Like Houses romanticizes everything. The whole song is about "Where the wild things are". The last verse is about the last scene where the kid is sailing away and they start to howl. Then the chorus is a quote that's said right before he starts to sail away. powerful scene and an amazing song. |
