This seems far from dance floor. It's more about a guy who is calling for his ex girl freind back. "We'll speak in our secret tongues" indicates that they know eachother. I feel that the is scared to talk to this girl so he tries to write to her to avoid direct confrontation . By the second stanza it is obvious he has a major crush on this girl and probably imagines himself with her instead of risking rejection. He tries to explain his feelings but just can't , he is still in the clouds. Eventually he gets over this girl and he starts to admire all the girls he sees, but he's not in a rush. It's not as if he needs extra weight or more complications to his life. He has only written words for company, which are his letters or poems. Raise the roof and follow me, more trying to tell himself to grow up . Then he tries to explain his new feelings but can't so he gets stuck imagining again. A little piece of mind that I know better, Than the plain disgrace of all my letters . He is saying he is more comfortable writing his letters . in which are a disgrace because all his bottled up feelings in which he can't get out. This is honestly exactly what I do |
