Born Of Osiris – The Other Half of Me Lyrics 10 years ago
My take? It's about the depressive after-effects of someone breaking up with someone (or that person dying) and dealing with the loss, feeling like the "other half of them" is missing and that their painting everything "black and white" represents how they can only now see the world in terms of their conflict than for what it really is. However, "I know there's still beauty in the colors left to see" shows they know something is wrong with their perspective, like how clinically depressed or bereaved people seem to know when they have a depressed or distorted perspective.

They seem to vacillate between believing they won't survive the grief ("Watch my back, coz it will be in a grave next week") and believing they will move on. ("Somewhere inside, I'll find the other half of me")

The album itself is called "Soul Sphere" and has a recurring theme of death, which leads me to believe that this is more about a dead person than a breakup.

The Ocean – Benthic: The Origin of Our Wishes Lyrics 10 years ago
It's about finally, after a long an arduous journey through the layers of your subconscious mind, reaching the core of your psyche or your libido. Or rather, if the journey is to be compared to its inspirational material, the Tarkovsky film "Stalker", it's about finally reaching the "room", where your deepest, most subconscious wish will be granted to you. (Many of the lyrics themselves are quoted or paraphrased from the film itself.)

The very ending of the lyrics suggests a bleak ending, where the person involved finally reaches rock bottom on an irreversible journey to get all the answers...only to find nothing or no-one there, rendering all that they have sacrificed to make it to the end--that is, they have sacrificed everything--utterly pointless. Alternately, they discover EXACTLY what they desire most...only to go mad from the realization.
