The song is interspersed with sarcasm. The Wknd kills his old ego, which requires a great hatred. Someone who has sold ideals and thus also puts his creativity at risk, the influences that have brought him here. Maybe he asks himself: Are there any deep thoughts (myself) that I give to the people, or do I feed clichés to a herd of cows? |

95% of the song he is sarcastic. At the end of the song he glides into the concealed, internal emotion one. So, there where is what really happen in him (on his side of the wall). One clearly hears the difference between the hatred (narzistisch injured) and the loss pain in overlapping by "uuuuhhh babe" (internal voice) at the end o.t.S. He has almost a emotional breakdown.. Also it can be that his Sarkasmus alludes to, that she is not pleased though he never badly treated her physically. Typical simplifikation of the facts. He ignores the psychic damage he do at her. He thinks like a naive child and argues with it for his innocence. This is a selfpreservation desire of the morality department / conscience department of the subconsciousness. This is the inner fascist. |
