My reply thing isn't working right. I would have thought Chaucer, too, but the author says not. |

Off. I don't see why a cult or drugs would be involved unless the MAP's or credible witnesses say so. |

Donovan – Hurdy Gurdy Man Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I too came to SM after hearing HG play in end credits to Zodiac. I thought it was saying, History is a dangerous task/ Unleashing shadows unmasked... I thought those lyrics fit w/ the eerie, spooky music and what went on in Zodiac w/ the relentless reporter, Mr Graysmith [at one point I thought he should be called Gravesmith,] unleashing the long-dormant killer with his news stories and having the killer make hang-up calls to his home. Odd how the eerie music has such generally positive lyrics, mostly about love. And how the lyrics are mostly nonsense words yet that 3 minute song went top 10 in the US & UK. So SM, ty again for a great site... ...uncluttered and mostly free of the rampant, intrusive commercialism that's infected so many formerly legit sites. I post your url from time to time on Yahoo Answers. |

Jackson Browne – Running On Empty Lyrics | 11 years ago |
He's running in and from fear and lonliness: "Look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through Looking into their eyes I see them running too" ----- Friends he used to turn to, but no more. Now they'r running too, maybe not on the road like him, but he looks into their eyes and sees it. The road is so good for that. The feeling of "the road rushin' under your wheels" can be such good escapism. |
Billy Ocean – Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run) Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Actually she bent over a pool table in Key West in her painted-on white jeans and said, "I'm lookin' for a good shot." I paused for a sec and said, "that looks like a good shot." She looked up fast to see who picked up her gauntlet. I saw her bright blue eyes framed by platinum hair. "Something told me I was into something good." |
Gordon Lightfoot – Carefree Highway Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Just so powerfully poignant; never fails the tears flow when I read those lyrics; ======== The needless loss that cant be regained, and no one else left to blame. ======== Could someone add the copyright date? ty. |
