I personally think the song is about Homme's relationship with Brody Dalle while she was with Tim Armstrong. We get some rules to follow That and these These and those No One Knows -He's referring how society makes rules about adultery and that no one knows about him and Brody. We get these pills to swallow how they stick In your throat Tastes like gold -He's talking about how it would practically be suicide if anyone found out about it. Then he says how this love is golden. Oh what you do to me No One Knows -He saying that no one knows about the truth and what they do together. And I realize you're mine Indeed a fool am I And I realize you're mine Indeed a fool am I Ah -He's saying that he realized that Brody's love belongs to him. Not Tim, or anyone else except him. I journey through the desert Of the mind With no hope I found low -He's thinking about what he will do if anyone found out, but comes up dry. I drift along the ocean Dead lifeboats in the sun And come undone -The ocean is the media, the lifeboats are the lies they made to keep them from drowning in media attention. Pleasantly caving in I come undone -He's getting tired of keeping this relationship a secret. And I realize you're mine Indeed a fool am I And I realize you're mine Indeed a fool am I Ah -Same as before Heaven smiles above me What a gift Here below But no one knows -He sees this love as a gift and heavenly, but know one knows about it. The gift that you give to me No one knows - He's saying the gift of love she gives him sadly has to be hidden. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – Kalopsia Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| The song is a conversation between Homme and his consciousness. Josh is officially saying goodbye to his dark life-style. For some apparent reason it makes him sad. His consciousness telling him to be happy about turning a new leaf and to forget those who are a bad influence to him. It's a really deep song. Artistically ...Like Clockwork is QOTSA's magnum opus. | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – If I Had A Tail Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's a song about Homme's old-self. In 2010, Josh Homme was legally dead for moment due to complications during knee surgery. Homme said that it gave him a different outlook on life and heavily inspired Like Clockwork. He's pretty much saying that his old-self could be mistaken for the devil if you gave him a tail. | |
