| Bon Jovi – (You Want To) Make A Memory Lyrics | 10 years ago |

I agree with cookie2. I think this is about two good friends who have had feeligns for each other and might not have realised/told each other. This song always reminds me of my best friend. I've had feelings for him since we became close 5 years ago. I didn't tell him at first because I knew he didn't feel the same and he was also still friends with my older brother (still same friends circle now but not as close). We both have a huge love for Bon Jovi and often he'll send me lyrics from their songs when he's listenng to them and (You Want To) Make a Memory is one of the most popular ones he'll send lyrics from. Last summer we met up after not seeing each other for a while due to work commitments. We were walking around this beautiful lake and we sat down just to look at the view and talk for a while. He put his arm around my shoulders when we sat down and pulled me into him. We sat like that for ages just talking and having a laugh when he turned slightly and kissed me. It was a lovely afternoon and on the drive back home, this song came on. We are still really close and we meet up often but nothing has ever happened since that day. That afternoon we made a memory that I will always think about whenever I hear this song. |

I've never really listened to the lyrics of this song untill I listened to a youtube artist do a cover it. I then looked up the lyrics on here to see if anyone had the same interpretation as me. As there were only two comments, I decided to add my interpretation. When I was listening to the song, I found myself thinking of a very dear friend of mine. He's the only one I have spoken to in depth about my mental issues, mainly due to the fact he also has mental issues. When I looked up the lyrics I realised why. This friend of mine, I have become really close to. I love him as a very close friend and this song says it all. I will love him unconditionally. I have seen all his "insecurities", his "dirty laundry" and it "didnt make me blink one time" because I know what its like to have all these things to deal with in your head. "I'll take your bad days with your good, walk through this storm I would, I'd do it all because I love you, I love you" I'll take the bad days because they're a part of us and the good days are worth the bad ones anyway. "Acceptance is the key to be, to be truly free, will you do the same for me?" He seems to do the same for me. He looks at my insecurities, my dirty laundry without getting horrified by it. He takes my bad days with the good all because he loves and cares about me and knows exactly what it's like. So in conclusion, to me, this song is about accepting and loving someone with mental illnesses. Knowing and uderstanding that they have issues they have to deal with on a day to day basis and you judging them and looking down at them, just makes everything worse for them. It's surprising how many peopple actually do look down on and judge you. And that just makes you feel even worse. |

| Maroon 5 – Daylight Lyrics | 11 years ago |

This song screams long-distance relationships. When I was 13 I met and fell in love with a 15 year old guy who lived 4 hours away from me. It got complicated, the relationhsip ended and we lost touch. We're back in touch now and our feelings are still the same as nearly 6 years ago. I'm going to see him this summer and when I hear this song, I can't help but think of the last day we'll get to spend together and how hard its going to be. |

I got told about this song by one of my closest mates while I was in an abusive relationship. It wasn't physical it was emotional and mental abuse. He was lovely and everything I could ask for for a year and a half but then things changed. He would blackmail and guilt trip me into things he knew I didn't want to do/couldnt do, stopped me from seeing my mates and called me everything nasty you could think of. I didnt have much confidence when I first got with him but he made it so mch worse. My friend over heard him saying something horrible to me and she asked me later on if he oftens says stuff like that, and I broke down and told her everything. She then showed me this song. When I was listening to it "But he's scared of the light that's inside of her So he keeps her in the dark" stood out to me as my mate had told me that he had quite often stopped me from spending time with her and my other mates. Because of my amte showing me this song "I woke up and grew strong and I can still go on" and from now on "no one can take my pearl" |

My first love told me about this song. He told me to listen to it and then phone him. He then proceeded to sing it down the phone to me and told me he loved me. We were in a long distance relationship; I was 13 and he was 15 when we first started. After a year, things got complicated and we finished and lost touch. 2 and a half years went by and I found him again on a social network site. We instantly started talking how we used to and it felt like we had never stopped speaking. We still love each other dearly and are best friends despite the distance. I love you Lee, I always have and always will. |

| Kelly Clarkson – Dark Side Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
To me this song is about mental illnesses. People with mental illnesses keep it hidden as much as possible from the outside world; it's their "dark side". Getting close to someone can be difficult and "If I show it to you now will it make you run away?" describes exactly how it feels when you're undecided whether you feel like you can show someone. "Will you stay, even if it hurts, even if I try to push you out, will you return" For me describes when you've told someone and you warn them that when you get into a bad way, you are likely to push them away and it's for their own good. You don't want them to go through what you do so its for their own good that you push them out, but it makes you wonder whether if/when you push them out will they come back to you? As soon as I first heard this song I had to stop and have a cry because of how I view this song. Suffering with mental illnesses is bad enough without having people running away from you because of your "dark side". |

| I could not agree with you more! Although I do feel and know its about a loved one going off to war, I also feel it could be about homosexuality. When explainging this to mates they don't get it but being bisexual myself, its more clear to me how this song can refer to it. | |
