| Touché Amoré – Huckleberry Lyrics
|
Huckleberries hold a place in archaic American English slang. The tiny size of the berries led to their frequent use as a way of referring to something small, often in an affectionate way. The phrase "a huckleberry over my persimmon" was used to mean "a bit beyond my abilities". "I'm your huckleberry" is a way of saying that one is just the right person for a given job.[2]
The range of slang meanings of huckleberry in the 19th century was fairly large, also referring to insignificant persons or nice persons.[ |

This song is about closing yourself off to the world and chosing actions which might push another person away. Not really hundred percent sure of this one. |

This song is about America and it's oblivion when it comes to wants and needs. It's about the resources we refuse conserve and choose to instead "run away". |

I suppose this is meant to refer to the fear of commitment or the unwillingness to make moves when it comes to relationships. Maybe even a sort of shyness. That being the crutch. |

I think the song is about why he choses to write and the way he goes about it. He writes about what troubles him. |

I am marching to the beat of my own drum + beating a dead horse = I am marching to the beat of a dead horse. This song is about putting up personal barriers and pushing others away from oneself. |

This song is about a struggle with negativity. "Parting the sea between brightness (positivity) and me". It's a concept that's linked with the last song on the album as well. |

A quick fix has two meanings here. One being the junky lingo, the other refering also refering to drugs but in the sense that it's a quick fix for your problems. A hammer and nails can be used to fix something, but in this sense it can also be used to close a coffin. This song could refer to drug use in general, but I feel it is directed towards heroin. |

Many people within this scene get lost in an image, a "trojan horse". The singer is feeling a sense of disassociation within himself. A truly honest and brutal song which I feel I can relate to. |

| Rise and Fall – The Void Lyrics

Fucking amazing song. About religion and the afterlife. The period after death is often refered to as 'the void'.
"The Void is the philosophical concept of nothingness manifested. The manifestation of nothingness is closely associated with the contemplation of emptiness, and with human attempts to identify and personify it. As such, the concept of The Void, and ideas similar to it, have a significant and historically evolving presence[3] in artistic[4] and creative expression, as well as in academic, scientific and philosophical debate surrounding the nature of the human condition." |

| Most Precious Blood – Blame It on Altered Beast Lyrics

I'd say the song is a reference to physical abuse as a child and the repercussion of which. As a child one has the urge to defend itself, growing up one might become more like their father "giving out what is deserved". A man torn in half by the urge to be defensive but at the same time having the urge to be offensive, "two masters that no man can serve". |

The song suggests that Rob's father may not have been a very good person and that he may have inherited some of those traits. "The sharpest tongues cut their own throats first." May suggest the idea of a forked tongue and that it tends to betray and do damage mostly to oneself. |
